Hi guys,

I used to live in Utah as a game tester a few years ago, working for Sensory Sweep up until it crashed and burned into the ground.  I found a job overseas, which I've recently left, and returned to the U.S..  I'm looking to get back into Utah, and I'm wondering if there's anything open for someone like me.

First, a little bit about me.  I've been in the industry for about 12 years working the QA beat.  I'm most experienced in console compliance, but I've done a little bit of everything in my career from large games to small games, and from high end PC projects to Facebook and iOS projects.  I have experience in running QA teams, as well as communications between various departments (or, in the case of my last job, communication between the QA team and our clients).

So, if anyone knows someone who's hiring QA, could you please drop me a line?  Also, if any of you would like to see my resume, feel free to ask.

Regards,
William

I don't have a job for you, but I'm very interested in your work experience and stuff! I'm an aspiring noob wanting to get into the industry and I'm open to feedback, especially someone who's been busy for 12 years! I suppose you know Brett Wardle? He's cool, I know he worked on Tale of Desparuex. He taught at ITT where I got my degree and stuff. Do you have a website I can look at or anything so I can learn from your example? Lol Here's mine http://www.rhettcandy.com Welcome back to Utah, bro! (By the way, I think Brett's a QA guy for EA in Salt Lake now according to his Facebook. Maybe start there?)

Thanks,

Unfortunately, since my work has primarily been in QA, there aren't any portfolios or anything like that.  :)

Welcome back :)
There aren't any QA openings at Smart Bomb right now, sorry. Will
keep an ear out. In the mean time you may want to consider getting
some personal experience testing casual/online and mobile games. Just
a thought.

I should say "more" experience. Many of those types of projects have
sprung up lately.

Thanks for keeping an ear out.  Yeah, I worked quite a bit with mobile phone, iOS, and a few Facebook projects in my last company.  It seems to be the hit thing nowadays.

Also, Neumont University is regularly seeking to expand our faculty base in computer science and game development. You can find out about full time and adjunct opportunities and/or requirements  at: www.neumont.edu/teach, or by submitting a resume and cover letter to lpa...@neumont.edu.
