Hey folks,

It was great meeting some of you at the meeting this past week. For
those of you that couldn't make it, I'm going to be hosting a one-
night-only screening of the critically acclaimed independent
documentary film INDIE GAME: THE MOVIE. IGTM was an official selection
of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and the 2012 South By Southwest
Film Festival, so you know it kicks butt. It even won the World Cinema
Documentary Editing Award at Sundance. Seriously, the editing alone
will blow you away.

If you're not familiar with the movie, it's about a handful of indie
game devs and their struggles to create and market their games under
the Internet microscope, with all of the personal and emotional risk
that comes with it. You can see trailers and other good stuff at
http://indiegamethemovie.com.

So like I said, I'm hosting it here in Salt Lake City for one
screening only, on THURSDAY, MAY 31, 2012 at 7:30PM at Brewvies Cinema
Pub. Tickets are free (seriously, free) and first come-first served,
so get your tickets soon. Seats are extremely limited!

You can reserve your tickets here: <http://igtm-slc.eventbrite.com/?
access=indiegamemovie>

Also, since this is a movie about indie game development, I wanted to
make it an opportunity for local indie game devs to showcase a game of
theirs (even if it's not yet finished). Nothing much, just a 30-45
second trailer of a game you'd like to push. I'll collect as many as I
can, and string them together for a series of trailers before the
movie starts (kind of like the movie trailer thing before the feature
presentation).

So if you want to include a short trailer of yours, you have less than
three weeks to get one together. If you would like to include one,
just reply here or let me know by email at slcrubes at gmail dot com.

Please note: Brewvies is only for adults age 21 or over, so no kids.
Also, you should show up to check in at Brewvies no later than 7:15PM
the night of the show. After 7:15PM, any unclaimed reserved tickets
may be returned to the general pool to be redistributed if there are
any people waiting at the door.

Hope to see you there!

Mike

The URL to the ticket reservations got cut in the middle. If you use
the link and the site says, "No tickets available," there should also
be a link for "Enter promotional code". Use the code "indiegamemovie"
and you should be able to reserve tickets.

Wow -- as of right now, all of our advance seats are SOLD OUT! (Well,
since they're free tickets, I suppose the proper thing to say is that
they're all GIVEN OUT.)

There may still be some opportunity for tickets, however, since some
of our sponsors may not use all of their tickets. Plus, some people
may end up cancelling their tickets in advance of the show. So if you
still want to have the opportunity to see the show, put your name on
our waiting list. As extra tickets become available, I will contact
people on the waitlist one by one to release those tickets to each
individual.

The web site for the event should now have a link to add your name to
the waitlist. Note that the waitlist only allows 1 TICKET RESERVATION
per person, so if you want two tickets, you need to put your name on
the waitlist twice. Please, no more than two tickets per person for
the waitlist.

Thanks!
Mike

Hey everyone,

Just a quick reminder that we are less than a week away from the movie
screening, so if you want to include a short trailer of yours, you
have less than a week to get one to me. If you are working on one,
just reply here or let me know by email at slcrubes at gmail dot com.
Thanks!

Mike
