Hey all,
Crazy busy stressful times for game devs everywhere - but there is good news to share!
Sue McCreadie of Industry & Investment NSW has contacted us with
details of continued government funding available to independent
developers in NSW.
- key points to note are:
=====================================
- The former Digital Media Initiative (DMI) has been
relaunched as the Interactive Media Fund (IMF).
- It was announced last Wednesday.
- We have $3 million over the next 2 years
- The DMI guidelines have been fine tuned
but the key criteria haven't changed
- so, applications received for the DMI
will be migrated to IMF.
- As with DMI, grants of up to $50,000
are available for early stage development,
- and up to $250,000 is available for
advanced stage development
- Up to $5,000 is available for travel
to approved international markets/conferences such as GDC
- The main change is that Enterprise Funding
has been increased from $100,000 to $250,00 - that is for companies who
are working on a slate of projects
- We are looking for projects that help
to build the capabilities of the NSW games and transmedia sectors in particular
- Guidelines and application forms can
be downloaded from our website.
- Go to www.business.nsw.gov.au
and search for Interactive Media Fund.
=====================================
So what's stopping you? Get your team & business plan together and apply for funding.
Let's
build a resilient, self-sustaining industry of experienced game
developers in NSW - it won't happen overnight, but it will happen! ;)
