Dear San Francisco IGDA Members,

We are thrilled to announce the speakers for our next event will be taking place on Wednesday, September 7th at 7pm at Autodesk

We will be discussing How to Thrive in VR with our panel of industry experts.

Our speakers will be:

Rafael Brown: Digital Myths Co-founder and Creative Director

Digital Myths is a VR games studio & SF Bay Area startup focused on immersive VR experiences for social multiplayer. Digital Myths combines an expertise on cooperative online multiplayer and cross platform, device agnostic development with a design philosophy of immersion through shared, emergent, narrative, replayable, systemic gaming. The future of VR is online together. Digital Myths is currently building an unannounced project for PC/Console VR while experimenting with Mobile VR.

 

Rafael Brown is a game designer and 20 year veteran of the games industry. He has worked across a range of PC, console, and mobile for game studios including id Software, Looking Glass, BioWare, EA, 2K, Activision, Sierra/Vivendi, and Retro/Nintendo. As a game designer, level designer, producer and creative director, he has worked on franchises including Thief, Rage, Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, Need for Speed, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, True Crime, Mafia, The Hobbit, Tony Hawk and Gun.  His best work is ahead of him with the his new studio, Digital Myths.

 

Terisa Duringer: Temple Gates Games, CEO

Temple Gates Games is a Silicon Valley based VR game studio.  She’s best known for creating Ascension VR, Bazaar and Cannon Brawl.

Jimmy Maidens: Penrose, Co-founder and VFX Supervisor on Allumette

Jimmy is a veteran CG filmmaker, having served as a technical lead and artist at Dreamworks for over 12 years on films such as the Shrek and Madagascar series. As a true CG generalist, Jimmy has wide expertise in multiple areas including lighting, modeling, animation, FX, coding, scripting rendering and concept art. Jimmy has been a VR enthusiast for most of his life, and has amassed a large VR headset collection over several decades.
