Thanks to whoever came up with this forum. Great idea.
It's been a few years since we made it past round 2 in regionals.
Really liked playing on neutral floors for the regional semi-final and
final matches.
State tournament finals--incredibly exciting championship matches in
3A and 4A. WOW.
Suggestion for tape exchange program: Instead of regional winners
forwarding match tapes directly to state opponents, back it up one
match and have all regional finalists send their semi-final match to
the state office. I know it would be a lot of tapes, but 3 or 4
minutes of viewing will probably indicate overall quality. If a bad
tape is received, contact the host of the regional final for that team
and make sure that arrangements are made to tape the regional final
that night and have that tape forwarded to the appropriate recipient.
Take $20 from the gate money to reimburse the host school for the time
and trouble it takes to find someone to do a good job of filming the
match. If a good tape was received from each of the eventual regional
winners, the state can just forward the semi-final round tapes to the
coaches. A good tape of a regional semi-final would certainly trump a
bad tape of a regional final.
