I have a IFSYS-5651 Dev. Board and have ran the SPP terminal example
application. When I run this, where does the software reside, the HCI
abstraction layer, the BT stack, the profiles and the application.
Does it all run in the MSP430 or is any part implemented in the
IFSYS-5043 module? And if so, why? Is the module only used as a radio
link if this is the case?

Best Regards
Anders

Dear Anders,

We actually have three SPP demo applications:

- the CandleDragon SPP demo is based on their dotstack(TM) BLuetooth
Protocol stack, which resides within the MSP430 and communicates with
the IFSYS-5043 via HCI 3-wire interface.

- the Oxilink SPP demo based on iAnywhere Bluetooth SDK, which
resides within the MSP430 and communicates with the IFSYS-5043 via HCI
3-wire interface.

- finally we have an Oxilink SPP demo based on a CSR integrated stack/
application residing completely on the IFSYS-5043 module. This
demonstrates the ability of the IFSYS-5043 module.

So, we not only demonstrate the reference designs based on MSP430 and
IFSYS-5043, but also some of the 3rd party capabilities as well -
iAnywhere, CandleDragon, and eventually, we hope, Cybercom as well :-)

Best regards,
IFS Support
