Can't get the client (Win XP) to work.

Hi folks,

since days I am trying to install ifolder. I tried Ubuntu, Debian and
SuSe, tried almost any howto (incl. the walkthrough) I found on the
net and there is always another problem. Now I am here.

I used: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/iFolderInstall#Installing%20Simias
on a fresh installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

I went down the doc line by line, installed client and server on the
same machine.

The only thing I added, which was not in the script: /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 localhost
#127.0.1.1 xyz
192.168.1.33 xyz.myftp.org xyz

Where 192.168.1.33 is the ip of the ifolder machine in my local net
and xyz.myftp.org points to my server from outside the local net.
(In my IPCOP there is a port forwarding to 443 and 80 on 192.168.1.33,
but I still have other problems).

So I can use https://localhost/admin and https://192.168.1.33/admin
and I was able to create a user.

I was able to login as this user on https://192.168.1.33/ifolder

I tested the ubuntu client I installed on 192.168.1.33. This client
connects to the server on the same machine. But I don't need this.

On a WinXP machine in the local net I re-installed ifolder-client
3.8.0.3 and tried xyz.myftp.org and 192.168.1.33.

I ended up with (translated from german):
iFolder can't proof the identity of https://192.168.1.33:443/. The
certificate was signed by an unknown ... Would you like to accept the
certificate?

=> Yes

Error making the connection to iFolder server. Check the entered
informations and try it again. When the problem persists, call the
admin.

I've called myself, but there is no good answer available ;-/

The login via web as user or as admin is working from this XP machine
in my net.

Can anybody help?

...but nothing new on this try.

Try creating a new user on iFolder with a /really/ simple password and
try logging in from the client again. Maybe you made a simple error
with the password. Alternatively, the SOAP error looks concerning...
I've sort of taken a rinse-wash-repeat approach to installing iFolder,
that is... start fresh when it is acting borked.
