Out of curiosity, why did they reject?

The problem was having one popup (in this case the history panel) shown from a lower popup (the context menu with icons). Although the UIPopoverController quite happily lets you do this, the Apple HIG say you should not do it. Even though they say 'should not' rather than 'must not' (as they do in other instances), any breach of the HIG is likely to lead to a rejection ... and this is what has happened :(
I'll re-engineer things so the context menu isn't a popover, it'll take a bit of time as the popover is by far the easiest way of achieving things like this ... which is why this is sometimes an easy trap to fall into!
The good news is that from next Monday I can work on the project full time for a bit as my other major project is letting me take a sabbatical from it ... so I should be able to turn it round in a few days and re-submit to Apple fairly quickly.
One thing I’m wondering is what is the use case for the binary view option? I don’t see any end users needing such a option, but perhaps I’m not thinking out of the box. Can you explain?

We are now in discussions with Novell regarding the login issue that
affects some users (it is not SSL related) and hope to have more to
report on that soon.
