This new release has many new features, including:
- Power Painter, a new AJAX based thin client advanced authoring tool,
empowers more users to develop any combination of reports, graphs and
KPIs that can be placed into a coordinated compound PDF or DHTML
document.
- The new Advanced Graph Assistant is a powerful more user-friendly
interface for creating and editing graphs. This graph tool, based on
AJAX technology, is efficiently designed to satisfy the needs of both
novice and advanced users.
- Active Reports has significant performance improvements and
functionality as you can now export charts directly to your favorite
Microsoft Office program -- PowerPoint, Word or Excel.
- Developer Studio's PDF layout tool now has a simple way to add a
printable TOC (table of contents), format text, and control positioning
of objects on the report.
- Business Views are a new way of managing and delivering metadata to
your business users. Adding business descriptions and grouping your
metadata by functional area is now possible with the new synonym editor
(formerly the Master File Tool) in Developer Studio.
- Delivery of more seamless integration with Microsoft Office with a
new PowerPoint report output format. Any WebFOCUS report can now be
directed to PowerPoint. In addition, BI Dashboard reports and graphs
can be exported to PowerPoint.

communication of business and financial data.
- Simplify your DataMigrator data flow design with the new DB_LOOKUP
function that eliminates the need for a Join.
- New buffering and mouse-over pop-ups have been added to the GIS
(Geographical Information Systems) adapter to facilitate data retrieval
from another map layer.
