The MUD server has been having hardware problems. IIRC, fans have
been going out and the machine overheated. katre or Duchess probably
know more.

I guess there's a need for another new backup MUD. I wasn't aware
that nitfol had gone away.

None of the backup muds I knew of are up. Do we even have a
backup anymore? The mailing list footer should probably be fixed, at
the very least.

Not sure what's up (or rather, not) with ebmud.nitfol.com. But I
started up some ancient source code I had lying around:

There's always Guncho. Sign up at www.guncho.com, then connect to
game.guncho.com 4108.

We're having some sort of problem with the DSL.  All last night it wasn't connecting.  Now it connects but there's still horrible latency and lost packets.

Either the heat has cooked both the old modem and the new spare, or the heavy rain has caused problems with the DSL line.  Verizon is coming out hopefully today to look into the line, at least.

OK, guys, where are you, physically?

I was having horrible latency and lost packets to a Verizon FIOS line
in northern Virginia Thursday-Saturday.

The MUD is in my basement, in loverly Brooklyn.  I have AceDSL dsl over verizon copper lines.  Ace is great, Verizon sucks.
