FYI: In case you're interested for future reference.....

Global Health Residency Track in Medicine and Pediatrics at the Mount
Sinai School of Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City

This unique residency track is designed for future global health
practitioners. Residents completing this program will be fully trained
in medicine and pediatrics and will obtain a Masters of Public Health
with a concentration in Global Health. During the four years of this
program, residents will perform clinical rotations and take classes that
cover basic public health principles as well as fundamental topics in
global health. Training will be both evidence and skills based and
frequently taught by world-class experts. With the appropriate
mentorship, participating residents will be expected to develop a
research question and explore their interest at an approved site during
their 6-12 week fieldwork experience.

Current approved sites include Ethiopia, Honduras and Kenya where
residents can work with populations that suffer from an unparalleled
breadth and severity of disease pathology. Clinical and research
experiences are present in both urban and rural settings and often in
connection with national medical colleges or local non-governmental
organization. Residents will have the opportunity to participate in
existing public health research collaborations as well in newly
developed projects.

Applications will be accepted for entrance into the residency program
for the 2007-8 academic year. Interested applicants should have a strong
commitment to Global Health.
