As businesses continue to invest money into Sudan (i.e. supporting the
Sudanese government), their return essentially becomes blood money.
Many states have begun to take action against this (California,
Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont.)

But there is opposition from the National Foreign Trade Council
(NFTC). They have already taken Illinois to court.
But there is a bill that can protect a state's right to remove their
investment governments like those in Sudan.

Can you give 3 minutes to calling your Senator? Many Sudanese and
American are hoping the answer is yes

Let her/him know that you support Senator Durbin's bill, the Sudan
Divestment Authorization Act, to protect the rights of states to join
the international fight against genocide in Darfur by divesting."

1. Here the number (202) 224-3121 (the Capitol Switchboard) to get
started.
2. Ask to be connected to your Senators' office.
3. REPORT YOUR PHONE CALL TO THE WEB ADDRESS BELOW. This is key!
4. Smile, because you did a great thing :)

All the Best,
Thank you in advance
