This may not even be an iFlicks setting but:

My music comes through loud and clear. My video is usually too quiet.

For example,

My TV shows and movies often require I crank my volume to hear them,
particularly in a noisy environment such as on a bus or walking across
campus. Even then, many shows are too quiet at max volume.

This is less of a problem with in-ear headphones, but I am not always
wearing them. Also, it is a little hard on the ears when I forget to
'down' the volume when switching from a video to music... ouch

Is there some way to prepare video with higher volumes? Even better,
a way to pre-scan and automatically pick an appropriate volume scale
increase?

Interesting idea!
Not sure if it can be done on this app but I like this idea.....
Jendrik.... is this something that iflicks could do in the future or is it not possible and solely based on the original recording of the file...

I know (the defunct) VisualHub can certainly ramp up volume, at leas on a case by case basis, so it is likely possible. Having said that, maybe there is even a setting in iTunes to do this during sync or something. I DID find a "sound check" setting in iTunes, but I don't think that helps me with my iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, Apple TV - hey, I am committed :-).

Found there is a volume control in iTunes where I can increase volume of individual shows. I am increasing an entire series by 50% to see if that helps.

Please let me know if this works. One possibility for iFlicks to increase the Volume would be exactly this.

I always right click my titles in iTunes and click the Options tab,
then boost the volume all the way up for shows. Otherwise, I also have
a hard time hearing dialogue.

I'll make this available as a rule in iFlicks to automate the process.

Setting all shows to +100% volume seems to have helped a bit. Some shows are so quiet, I still have to switch to my in-ear headphones on the bus.

Hi Jendrick

Just wondering if you're still planning to add the volume adjust
rule.

What I find is that AVIs have a much higher volume level than MKVs. It
would be nice to fix this automatically in iFlicks instead of manually
in iTunes.

This rule is planned, but I don't have an ETA yet. I'll post some more details about this in a bit.
