Hi all,

first of all I want to give a big thanks to all of my great beta testers. You are just the best. Thanks.

A couple of minutes ago I have released version 1.4 of iFlicks to both, the website and App Store. I really think version 1.4 is a big step, but still just the beginning. Many more things are on the way. I hope you don't mind that not all feature requests are included in this version, but I ensure you that we are working on it. Version 1.4 is a huge step in stability as well as features, so it was about time for this release.

In order to improve and organize support and development of iFlicks, we have prepared some more things. iFlicks now has a new support website for documentation, discussion and feature request. You can find the support website at http://support.iflicksapp.com. Support via email is also available through sup...@iflicksapp.com
This Google Group will still be available and I will remain to respond to requests here.

If you enjoy iFlicks and are as psyched about the latest update as I am, it would be great if you use the social integration on the support website to show your appreciation. If you have purchased iFlicks through the App Store, please keep the 5-star ratings coming for every update. All these aspects are immensely important, especially in the current Mac App Store environment, and ensure that we are able to keep development going.

Last, but not least, there will be an addition to the iFlicks team. A good friend of mine, by far the best programmer I know and overall nice guy, will aid me in developing iFlicks. This way we hope to bring new features and improvements to you faster. Additionally my youngest brother will help me so solve some of the less technical support request in order to free more of my time for development.

Best,
Jendrik

Excellent news! Tell us your new teammates' names so we can welcome
them!

As ever, thanks for your hard work - I'm thrilled (as I'm sure
everyone is) to see iFlicks doing so well.

Great work!

But how does it work for us who already have bought the app OUTSIDE of
the Mac AppStore? Will you send us a promocode or how will it work?

Best regards
Björn

For those who bought it outside the MAS it will work the way it has
always worked, you download the app from the website and enter your
serial.

That is absolutely correct. Apple does not provide a way to move existing customers to the Mac App Store.

What is this new feature with 1.4 "Optimizing Video for Streaming?"
Previous versions it just copied direct into iTunes.

When I add process files that have been encoded in HB and have the
"iTunes Compatible" preset to add the metadata the files are copied
into the top level of the iTunes Media folder and not the Moves/TV
Shows type structure.

This is with v1.4.0 and the latest iTunes 10.5 beta (although the
previous iFlicks beta releases were doing this correctly).

iTunes is not set to manage my files.

Something I am missing maybe ?

This is due to a change in iTunes beta. I have changed the detection of this iTunes setting and the fix will be included in the next update.

This is pretty much the same, only that the video is optimized during the process.

Thanks I suspected as much. Look forward to it.
