The June 2022 issue of IFLA Journal is a special issue on preservation storage and curation strategies and was edited by Reinhard Altenhöner and Jacob Nadal, in coordination with the IFLA Preservation and Conservation (PAC) Centres. It brings together broad approaches and perspectives to storage and preservation of digital and physical collections that are adapted to particular contexts, materials, and types of libraries. The aim of the issue is to demonstrate how storage choices affect the goals of libraries, influencing everything from preservation to access.

The October 2022 issue of IFLA Journal was developed in collaboration with the IFLA Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE) to mark the 20th anniversary of the IFLA Statement on Libraries and Intellectual Freedom. Guest Editors solicited manuscripts which examined the impact of the statement on the library profession over the past twenty years. With an introductory essay from Alex Byrne, the issue feature seven essays, case studies, and articles that add to our understanding of the impact of the IFLA statement while seeking to understand the nature of information freedom in a period challenged by new technologies and social phenomena that are transforming the ways in which people create, use, and disseminate information.

Featuring an excellent report on libraries in Ireland, the December 2022 issue contains 18 articles that represent perspectives from across the LIS field. Articles range from those focused on academic libraries in Jordan, Ghana, and Thailand to the growth of the field in the Maldives and the implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty. Also featured are innovative approaches to the role of LIS in society, including as a soft-power actor and critical component in delivering access to health and agricultural information to rural regions of the world.

Opening with an essay on Dutch libraries that highlights the library community in The Netherlands for IFLA WLIC 2023 in Rotterdam, the June 2023 issue of IFLA Journal features 16 articles that represent several timely issues for the profession.
