Apparently, Good things never die. That's what I am told, and nothing has proved me wrong so far, so I am going to stick to it :)
I almost lost hope in how things are going to turn out with I Fix Chennai a few months back, but have been very heartened to see the life that keeps coming back to this group, time and time again. We have close to a 100 members (actually more!) people in this group, and this is a call to action.
Arun Ganesh and Myself have been invited to go live on air tomorrow in Chennai Live (104.8) at 10am, to have a chance to invite the City to participate in the Beach Cleanup Initiative that Arun and his friends have Initiated. Some of you have gotten your hands dirty in it already. Some of you are just waiting for a chance. This weekend is your chance.
All in a manner of Coincidences, I had this interesting meeting with an elderly gentleman (an IIT Alumni) who is doing something much different from what he is capable of. He is running a school, instead of all the wealth he could be creating and enjoying. One of the things he spoke about has been resonating with me throughout this day. "Our entire lives we run after things, in a manner of wanting to conquering them. All the analogies we use, the prevalent use of the book "The Art of War" to figure out strategies, and words like cut-throat-competition, all keep throwing synonyms of war in our face day in and day out." His question was quite simple. "Is there a way to live life peacefully? To give back a little, and contribute to make things better, if not, atleast not destroy the most precious things that surround us?"
Think about it. If those words speak to you. Perhaps its a calling, a wake up one, to step out and do what is necessary. Enough of living in Apathy and ignorance, its time to act.
