Hi Everyone

I am sending this again via this email so that we can actually star using it. I think for the next while I will send messages out via both the old list and this email, so apologies for getting things twice. After the end of October I will only use this address.

These robust figures (drawn from the Labour Force Survey) might be of particular interest to those of you working with young people. The graphs in this article demonstrate things like: the unemployment rate for 16-25 year olds by region, with London having the highest proportion of its young people out of work. I thought it was worth you seeing this if you haven’t already, as it helps to put the work you are doing in context, and is a reminder that you are helping young people with a particular disadvantage to buck the trend that exists in the general population.

Hi Eóin

I was hoping you may be able to help me with a privacy related issue.

My company has made a commitment to offer subsidised services to young adults, now the problem I have is that the local psychiatric hospitals saying they would be breaching the Privacy Act if they refer clients to me (I need some way to identify these clients so that I can offer the discounted rate).

Strictly speaking I am not in the health profession, being a remedial massage therapist and life coach (though the irony is that I can access health fund rebates for remedial treatment of physical injuries).

Do you know of anyone in your network that might be able to offer advice?

Kind regards, Sylvie
