Hi Everyone
Attached are two articles. The first is a review of IPS fidelity by Gary Bond, Deborah Becker and Robert Drake which is in press at the moment and due to be published shortly. Second is an article that Jo Smith sent to me for distribution about the impact of mental illness early in life on later employment. If you see articles that would be good feel free to send them to me and I will distribute to the list. Of course you are also able to email to the list as well.
I also thought i would update you on some Australian news. Recently there has been a parliamentary enquiry into increasing engagement with employment and education for people with mental illness. The enquiry has been taking submissions around the country this month and is due to report later this year. They were very impressed with the IPS evidence that we and others presented to them. Part of the reason for telling you this, is that apart from work here, we were able to draw on the research and practice that we know about through iFEVR and this greatly strengthened the arguments that we were making. So, lets hope that the obvious benefits of this approach get translated into a useful policy and that the meaningful lives principles become the basis for practice here,
Cheers
Eoin
