Dear iFEVR list recipients

Three quick items:

1.       Please see the email below from some colleagues who are conducting research of relevance. I have CC’ed Jeroen Knaeps into this email if anyone is able to be of assistance to them please contact Jeroen.

2.       I might also take this  opportunity to remind people of the invitations that hopefully they have received from iF...@googlegroups.com After the end of October the use of the googlegroups list will replace other mailings, so if you still wish to be connected to this community please accept the invitation. If you have not received one, or if the link in it has expired let me know and I can add you directly. I just don’t want to add people without their permission.

3.       Finally, don’t forget that if you will be in Amsterdam for IEPA (29th Nov – 1st Dec) on Sunday 28th of November that you are invited to attend the 3rd meeting of the iFEVR group and help us review where we are at and plan where we will go. This will be an important meeting in terms of charting the direction of research and practice in relation to vocational recovery in first episode psychosis. I have attached information about this meeting as well as a booking form, though I hasten to add that the meeting is at no charge – the form is for numbers and catering purposes.

Thanks

Eóin

Subject: employment and education for people with mental problems - project in Flanders

Dear Mrs. Smith,

We are contacting you after having read your very inspirational article on Supporting Young People with Psychosis in Education, Training and Employment on behalf of the International First Episode Vocational Recovery (iFEVR) Group.

In the framework of a project for the European Social Fund, we are looking for initiatives across Europe that jointly offer Supported Education and Supported Employment to people with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders. During the course of this project we hope to establish an exchange of information and possibly also a visit of the premises of these combined SE and SEd initiatives. The final goal of this study is to learn about critical success factors in putting such an integrated model in place to enable a future implementation in Flanders. LUCAS, a consultancy organization for care research and innovation that is part of the Catholic University of Leuven (KULeuven), is the research partner in this project.

So far, integrated programs for Supported Education and Supported Employment have proven to be extremely difficult to find.

As a recognized author in this field we turn to you for your assistance in locating these programs in your country.

If you yourself work in an organization that offers such a program or if you could send us the contact details of someone who could help us along in our quest, we could greatly appreciate it!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Jeroen Knaeps
