Good to be back with you in a new course.

 

Following is the Homework assigned to each one of you, as discussed/ agreed yesterday:

1)Priya - "Value Analysis & Value engineering"- ( VA & VE)

 You may refer to book on MM by  A.K.DATTA, Ch 8, Pg105 to113.

Also book on MM by A.K.Chitale, Ch 17,Pg 249 to 284.

 

2)Maitreyi & Tejas - "Inv Control, Inv Mgt Models & Selective Inv Control "- Refer Book on MM by A.K.Chitale, Ch11,12 & 13 on Pg 133 to 210.

You may also refer to book on Logistics Management by S.C.Ailawadi, Ch 6 & 7 on Inv planning & Inv Mgt policies, Pg 54 to 76.

 

3) Nagarjun- "Transportation" - may refer book on LM by S.C.Ailawadi,Pg 77 to 90.

You may also refer to book on MM by A.K. Datta, Ch 19 on Transportation,Traffic & Claims mgmt., Pg 284 to 293.

 

4) Vishal - "Warehousing" - may refer to book on LM by S.C.Ailawadi, Pg 91 to 104.

In addition, you may look at book on MM by A.K.Chitale,Ch29, Warehousing & Distribution Mgt, Pg 405 to 414.

5) Kushal - "Logistical Measurement " may refer to book on LM by Ailawadi, Ch 12, Pg 119 to 126.

6) Bhushan - "Spare parts & Maintenance Material Control and Obsolete, Scrap & Surplus Materails Disposal', refer book on MM by A.K.Datta, Ch 23, Pg 338 to 343.

Since topics/ ready reference material available from the 3 books I perused is relatively small for Kushal & Bhushan, they will additionally work together on the topics" Stores & Storekeeping, Storage Equipment and Principles of Materials Handling", for which they can refer to book on MM by A.K. Chitale, Ch 8,9 & 10, Pg 96 to 132. Besides, also refer to LM by Ailawadi, Ch14, Pg 135 to 148.

 

As you are veterans by now, in doing such exercises, you may use any format ( Word, PPT, You Tube etc) to support your Presentations.

Due to the limited number of hours available for this course and need to do at least 6 meaningful cases & quite a few concepts, would expect all to come well prepared and share your understanding for minimum 30 mts, for each topic.

The reference books/ chapters are only indicative and you are expected to do a lot more search( research?) for gathering knowledge, so as to benefit self and others in the class.

I will try to forward ppts/ pdf files that I have on these topics, by end of the day.
