Dear Sir,

 

You concern is motivating. It is reassuring to receive the same from Alumni.

 

Please note the following in response to some of the very pertinent points that you have brought up in your mail.

1. The contact details of alumni have been deliberately suppressed in searches to avoid potential misuse of the sensitive information.

 

2. The professionals involved in the development and maintenance of site are doing great and the site is improving everyday. Even in its almost nascent stage, its features are not available in many similar but older sites. This is corroborated by appreciation of many alumni received by us. Moreover, by involving third parties in development, we would be sharing some sensitive information with them, without any apparent guarantee of a very better job.

 

3. Building in of other interactive features like blogs is already underway.

 

4. In case you have not been to the forums at ietalumni.org recently, please have a visit to those. There are topics by names of 'placement assistence' and 'job announcements' in which you can post your requirement. I hope this will help our younger friends (recent graduates) who are the biggest member group probably (rubbing shoulders in strength with the band of the oldest boys and girls:).

 

The posts with requirements of freshers are also to be flashed in college notice boards in arrangement with the placement cell representatives. Dear Robin, I am sure you must have been taking care of this.

 

5. Yes, we need contributions and we have collected some on 31st May and expect the trickle to grow into a downpour. We need contributions not only for maintenance of site but also to move towards the host of other objectives that this alumni association has been raised with. 

 

 

Hope the above will help to satisfy you and other alumni with similar concerns to a certain extent.

And the same is my concerned when we discussed on 31st May and in my mail as till our website is not having required features we may not be able to achieve our vision.

Once again I request all the executive members to work more seriously to get our website more interactive. Till now we are not able to get the contact details of the registered alumni. It is only showing the Person name and where he is located not even showing the email id.

If time is the constraint we should outsource some of the development work and if money becomes constraint we can request for contributions.
