hi rafik,
i'm mainly concerned by working groups in the application area.
including : atompub, calsify, eai, imapext, lemonade, webdav and
widex. but i look for other areas including : internet area and
security area.

actually, i don't belong to any of these groups, i just keep an eye on
their deliverables.

Hi Slim,
Me I am only subscribed to atompub too and sip.
your last remark is important, the question is how to belong actively
the working groups and not being just witness.

Dears,
We were discussing about the idea of having a Workshop in Tunisia to
introduce IETF to the Tunisian community.
Can you please send me your ideas and suggestions about this.
And can you also try to collect the max of persons name and contact
involved with IETF even based in Tunisia or outside ?
Thank you.

hi khaled,
i propose this axis of communication : "we built the internet and we
are building the future of internet" (it lacks a bit of modesty, but
it's just an axis not a slogan. we should find something more modest
to communicate with).
i think we should make an internet (only) comaign surrounding the
event and focusing on everyday use technologies that IETF built. this
way we shall educate internet community about the history of both ietf
and internet.

Hi All,
certainly to organize Workshop in tunisia is good idea to improve awareness of tunisian peers in IETF activities.
So I am asking about: the scope, the goals et who are the target people, I mean experts or anybody. the better is to have both scholars and practitioners.
I propose for academic person Mr  Adel BOUHOULA who is p resident of the Tunisian association of Digital Security..

It's wise to target both academics and industrials. I think in Tunisia you have a real potential in universities and research labs to contribute to IETF and also it's easier to proceed with them. And we have many arguments to convene them to go on with IETF. Besides, in few years some of them will be in the industry ;-)

I believe that our industrials also have to be involved in IETF activities, but I think that our approach should be a little bit different from our approach with academics. With industrials we can focus in some production of IETF like BCP documents that can really help them in their work.

I hope that, one day,  we get Tunisian companies that can work on standardization and develop protocols that the entire world uses them :-)
