JOB DESCRIPTION:

Senior Architect (.NET)
- SPECIFIC ROLE
You will play a pivotal role within the Development Team and be responsible for developing / maintaining the IT Architecture
and supporting the company’s applications development and acquisition activities.
The role requires a high level of aptitude in Microsoft Technologies (VB/C#) & RDBMS, with the ability to complete any design
and/or coding task whilst promoting the use of design patterns and re-usable software components.
You will be comfortable presenting solutions to clients, estimating costs accurately, leading the design process, acting as the technical
point of contact and managing technical risk.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecture
· Responsible for the design, maintenance and evolution of Systems Architecture within Capita Life and Pensions Ireland
· Thought leadership – keeping up to date and researching new Products / technologies - investigating how these have been implemented in the wider marketplace and how they can add value to Capita offerings
· Have strong knowledge of design and architectural principles
· Experienced with methods and techniques to ensure a high level of quality is maintained and anticipating technical issues before they arise
Productivity
· Ownership for Development Methodology and engages in Continuous Improvement opportunities across the area
· Deployment of Developer Productivity Tools
Support
· Involved in the delivery of Technical Training in IT and other business areas
· Directly involved in providing technical support and mentoring less experienced staff
Custodial
· Takes ownership of Source Control and Versioning tools
3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/MCA
Total experience: 10+ years
. 8+ years of experience designing and developing .NET systems (both web based and desktop/distributed applications)
. Experience in requirement analysis and application architecture, architectural concepts, issues and trends
. Microsoft architectural vision and roadmap
. Integration experience of Microsoft enterprise products, technologies, and solutions
. Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies, specifically .NET development, ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, Silver Light, WPF, Web Services, Workflow foundation, WCF, XML
. Strong Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 concepts and development experience
. Development exposure to SharePoint/MOSS, BizTalk, Entity framework will be a big plus
. Experience with design patterns
. Experience with Agile methodologies
. Good to have product development experience.
Desired Experience / Skills
- Experienced with Sybase
- Knowledge / Experience of Insurance / Financial Services environments
