Guys,

I realize it is very difficult for us to meet physically to share my thoughts and happenings, so thought of introducing my current team…

We are Technical Directorate team, at present our group is of 12 people and keep increasing every month all are from different domain and technical background (Network Architects, Pricing Analyst, Research Analyst, BI Architects, Application Architects, Product Architect, Principal Manager Remedy), to give a background, our group is Technical Directorate, we all work for bids and pipeline with additional responsibility of building the service capability and defining the delivery model, at least 5-6 of them are with great technical background worked with companies like RedHat, Terradata, Microsoft, Sybase, Mastek, running with 2-3 passports filled with Visa's, surprisingly none of them are from Pune nor Marathi, all are Gupta, Mehta, Tiwari, Ojha, Baneerjee, Subramanium, Shah, Thakur, I am the only Punekar

Now big point is most of them are hard core bewda’s, no gender bias, team make sure that at least one daru party per week (named as Happy Hours), it has been only 4 months and we are finding difficult to locate new restaurants, as standards are set very high.

Again similar pattern birthday cake, gift ceremony followed by bakra cutting (yes I mean Party)

“Aur Life me kya chal raha hai”, “How is life”, is famous now…

Feeling like I am returning back to same mood of life, we had in IE, but faces are different.

Will soon share the snaps too.

Also looking forward to hear something from you, your team, and your current experiences.

Wow................. :)

Happy Hours is US funda.. Many Hotels any Bar keep Happy hours and sell bear and alcohol cheap on that hours..

It seems like Prakash is now dealing with Upper levels of software development.

For me here Social life is good because friends are everywhere and almost all are kind of always interested in Happy hours... :)

Some friends are from South Gujarat, Pune, Synechorn.  I made many new friends also.. We meet at least once in Month and do parties..here alcohol quality is very good. :)

For working life..
I am working as like I was working  in 2005.  I know lot of things can be easily done in new tech but i can't because ppl are interested in increasing their billing hours.. :(

But you know I never depend on employer about how bad/good  work they give me to do.  I do my own projects, using my own ways and learning new things everyday.  I will soon let you know about my projects once i finish.

I also have started training business on weekends. so 2-3 hours on weekend also working and teaching (learning my self) SQL server. :)

Family came here last month so settling down slowly here in US.  rented new apartment and shifting there in mid July. Also find out school for Sheryl.  Pre schools are so expensive here.. 700-800$ per month...... Phheeeeeeeeeeeewwwwww..

And here you can't go anywhere without car, So Only I have to do everything no support from wife.. :)... Recently taken car from friend who is now in India otherwise driving rental car.

This is what going on in my life. Restarted the game so achieving level by level.. :)

well , my life is also going good , working in USA has its own challenges like how to live life and party after work ,its really hard to find friends for drink and party , sabka 1$ = 50 rupyaa ka hisaab reheta ..LOL.... :)) , no one like to spend and party unless koi offer kare .

I am into hardcore programming , where i need to refresh a lots of algorithms which can process millions of web request in not more than 3 sec, this is sometimes interesting but i dont want to do this everyday. Recently I gave an interview :) in another company where i think I will get a job  also  I cleared couple of rounds in Microsoft Seattle but failed in 4th round ....

There is a difference in work atmosphere,  what i used to have in India and what i have here, I have no work on Saturday and Sunday but my other five day keep me on my toes.

Ek baat to pakki hai, I am not looking forward to stay in US, will be coming back , eventually its good to be in home country  :)

Prakash bhai , which company are you working with  in pune  ?

yes one more thing , I also keep on searching for projects where i can get some development work and bring that work along to India . I don't know if I will get success in this. I have also met couple of guys over coffee but things didn't work out.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello All,

Its nice to hear you are enjoying your work and life.
Prakash - As usual jaha jatein ho mahol bana lete ho.. (Hao wo na ha wo na kerke..)
Atul - Really core developer by heart and by profession also..
Swapnil - Best husband in this world..
Deepak - Always in masti mood..Kabhi to serious ho jao

I am also working in "Mortgage Banking" domain. Nice domain but doing core support work literally eveyday calling user and solving their issues. From 1st July, working from CG(we call it as our "Maika" and BTCI is our "Sasural").
Every weekend we are doing shopping for our sweet home. This weekend we are planning to shift there. So feeling very excited..
Lalit ne yeh company mein bahot jyada grow ker liya hein.. Everyday he is getting appreciation from client and escalation from wife :) Like this life is running..

Only one thing that i am upset about is, "after 1 year feeling that I am at the same level of development experience..:(. No growth.
and team is also not good. All are selfish and matlabi.. Team Lead is pathetic.."

CG mein hum log tapari pe suki bhel khatien waqt sabki bahot yaad ati hein..:)

Hello All,

Good to see the emails on where are we and what are we doing.
Congratulations to Sonali and Lalit for a Home ,which is now their own :)

To share my experience here in Syntel

In syntel we have a dedicated division for R&D called SOG(strategic offering group). I am part of SOG's, ECM practices.
From SOG we get deployed to projects where ever there is a requirement. So from last year since i joined working with client Humana(Health care Payer) in US.

Good to know about a new domain. I work on Sitecore, Jquery, HTML5, CSS and MVC3. mostly the front end part of application.

As Atul mentioned there are many things where we don't have much control, when it comes to billing(I am exposed to client and Front End Developer). in Syntel, I am Techinical Specialist

Challenges are every where form changes, for me it is the machine infrastructure and blady internal politics, but now it is getting little better.
Initially I was in plan to put paper in 1st month only, as had very rude conversation with my Project Manager.

But his opinion changed very dramatically once he attended one training session where i delivered, CSS, Sitecore , Jquery. Also got chance to talk about few funda's which we learned in IE. like(fire and forget, Dependency injection,Entity framework.. code first approach etc.), I think I am good at this :) Thanks to IE and our wonderful team.

Also here we have concept of giving Lean idea, from our Team I am the first one to give these idea's and project it to the client, and was very much appreciated.. guess whats the idea. Implementation of Coded UI :)

Last month i visited chennai office for a presentation on sitecore for a new project initiative, nice experience... The project is in :)

Above points made a good difference and the things became little smooth for me.Recently got nominated for "Extra Mile" award :)

One more point which is worth mentioning is the team which we had @ IE was true agile team, in terms of team structure and the amount of output we produced, here it is so called Agile, only bolbacchan, a fresher is a part of agile team.. you can understand rest things.

I will conclude here.. because this can go on and on....

Just one Gyan "Experience, learnings  will never go waste.. be positive about it"

Once again Bahut accha laga mail dekh kar.. please keep it going.

Have a great day

Cheers

Hey Shail..

I am glad to see your progress..... :) Wow..  :) Congratulations for your achievements.  Keep going.

As I am also working on Sitecore and I am thinking that we keep forgetting  sitecore things which we have done and we don't have anything for good reference to remember them. We also could not install in our machine.

So I have decided to write small blogs to explain how we have done things in sitecore.  If you are doing something different in sitecore you also should join me. It will at least helpful to us or whoever from our team who later on wanted to switch on sitecore. This way we can share our knowledge and get to know new techniques which I may be not aware of.

Thanks,
~Atul.

Hi All,

Good to hear from all of you.

First of all congratulation to every one, i can see lot of changes in everyones professional life.

I am working on 'Revenue management domain'. Its very interesting and nice domain.

I think there are very few company's in the world, working on this domain. I can count only 4 to 5 and we are Leader

Now we are part of SAS company.

I am working on their mobile app. We have released first phase and now working on 2nd phase.

I learn new things in testing like 'Performance Testing', 'Services Testing', 'Jira' 'Rally Agile Management tool' 'Salesforce - CRM tool', also started gaining knowledge on 'QTP automation'.

Company has started implementing Agile from last Year. It has benefited to me as we are already worked on it.

Guys last month we had a trip to Tikona and Lohgadh, we stayed overnight on fort. It was amazing experiance.

I think thats enough.

So keep in touch, stay happy and safe.

Regards,
Nilesh
