SYNOPSIS
Concrete is one of the oldest and versatile construction materials. After water, it is the most utilised material in the world. It has many inherent qualities which are beneficial to asset owner, designer and contractor eg. structurally efficient, supports heavy forces, flexibility of shape or form, fire resistant, thermally efficient, acoustically sound, dampens vibration, security etc. Exposure to aggressive elements for example chloride and carbon dioxide lead to deterioration of reinforced concrete structures. Effective remedial approach utilising suitable product is important to rehabilitate the R.C. structures to its service conditions. Equally important is to protect the concrete from further deterioration by using suitable protection strategies.
Sika has a complete range of concrete repair, protection and structural strengthening know-how and products e.g. concrete repair, strengthening, concrete protection with corrosion inhibitor, hydrophobic impregnation and anti-carbonation protective coatings that are suitable to achieve durability in R.C. structures.

Kindly return the Reply Slip to the IEM (SB) office before 3rd October 2014 together with a non-refundable cheque for the participant fees made payable to The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (Southern Branch). For ONLINE REGISTRATION, payment MUST BE MADE VIA ONLINE PAYMENT (Bank-in the participant fees into the Institution’s Maybank Current Account No. 5-013920-15708) before the closing date.
The Institution requests all members co-operation in ensuring fees are paid in advance to the seminar. Please also be reminded that fees will not be refunded to absent participants who have paid, and to also note that all reservations must be paid despite participant cancellations.
