Fast Start for Snow
Date: 16 Dec 05:30 AM

After numerous rounds of snow, our cold season snowfall accumulation total has gotten off to a very fast start. The featured chart presents the season accumulated snowfall split before and after 15 December. This season's value is highlighted by the green lines with a simple average plotted for each period. Having such a large early season total does not portend an above average value for the rest of the season. For the six years shown to have a larger total than this season, only half of them had an above average second period. The near-term forecast does not have much in the way of additional snowfall, so we should not be adding to our fast start over the next week.
