The featured chart presents a histogram of daily high vs low temperatures for Ames during August. The observations for 2025 are shown by the red dots. This August has seen temperatures over much of the historical range of what is possible for this time of year. The right two panels present some statistical measures of the daily range of temperature between the high and low. Overall, the most common temperature combination is around 86 for a high and 64 for a low. We will be cooler than those values to close out the month as the pleasant late summer weather continues!
