A daily feature earlier this week lamented that November was quiet thus far. Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday and travel, the weather has certainly gotten more active with very strong winds working into Iowa on Tuesday afternoon. The featured chart presents the combination of Sioux City airport wind observations with the time periods of a Wind Advisory and High Wind Warning underlain. The peak wind gust reported at the airport was 67 MPH just before 6 PM. A number of travel impacting winter storms are expected over the coming days, so please use caution for your trip over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house.
