Chair of History of Economics

[Oktan Erdikmen]

Dear friends,

As some of you already know, the Chair of History of Economics (or
officially Lehrstuhl für Volkswirtschaftslehre, insbes.
Wirtschaftstheorie) is going to be closed at the end of this semester
due to the retirement of Prof. Dr. dres. h.c. Bertram Schefold.

However, I think that this chair should be protected by the assignment
of another professor since the history of economics is one of the most
important areas of economics.

If most of you are agree with me, we can gather signatures and apply
to the administration to request continuation of the chair.

Dear Oktan,

I think it is a good idea. Though the chair�s funds probably have been
channelled to another chair (f.e. accounting ;) ) we should stick to
your plan so they get at least some feedback of their funding strategy.

I also think its a good idea. learning from history is nowadays highly
underrated in ecnomics, where everybody just tries to come up with
nice and neat ecomic models, that dont really help to explain whats
actually happening.

Unfortunately, Im not Germany so i cant sign anything :) but i hope
many others will.
