2) Biography of Speaker, Dr James Pond:

Dr. James Pond, a founder and CTO of Lumerical Solutions, is a driving force behind the company’s core software technology. He has experience in a wide range of fields from magnetism to integrated optics and photonics. Prior to founding Lumerical, James was a senior scientist at a photonic crystal technology startup where he was instrumental in creating the intellectual property portfolio. James has a PhD in Physics from the University of British Columbia in Canada and a DEA and a Magistere in Physics from the University of Orsay and l’Ecole Normale Supérieure in France.
