LASER BUILDING AND TESTING
· Learn operation sequence and processes in the manufacture of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies of laser
· Assemble the sub-assemblies and parts into the whole laser, and align optical parts to ensure optimum laser performance in term of power, beam alignment and quality
· Analyze laser for service and repair, and determine the repair process and re-build the laser
· Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
· Train and certify laser alignment technicians and sub-assembly operators in building and testing laser
· Trouble-shoot failures at each stage of the manufacturing process and determine root causes to rework laser
· Analyze failure trends and continuous improve and document the production processes for better yield, cycle time and quality performance of the products
PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE
· Understand the fundamental and the properties of lasers, and the construction and operations of lasers and components
· Familiar with various type of laser technologies particularly in Diode Pump Solid State (DPSS) and Optical-Pump System (OPS) lasers.
· Understand the knowledge on alignment of optical components to achieve balance of laser power, direction and beam shaping for optimum final beam quality as per production specifications.
· Strong ability in operate various measurement tools in parallel during alignment and testing processes.
· Understand technical and statistical analysis processes. Analyze failures from production, derive root causes and corrective actions, and lead to resolve difficult engineering issues.
QUALIFICATION
· Minimum BSE or BS with knowledge of Optical Engineering, Physics, Electronics or Opto-mechanics. Master degree of relevant engineering field would be advantageous
· At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
· Good communication skills to interact with different culture and be able to train production staff and contribute to the smooth operation of the line
· Team player, mature, positive thinking and passionate about technologies and product development, particularly in optical and electronics engineering
