Hello IEEE Community,

CNG, Planet, and Clark University are convening a two-day, in-person sprint on March 10–11, 2026 at Clark University (Worcester, MA) to define a draft standard for Earth observation (EO) vector embeddings.

We're inviting practitioners with hands-on experience creating or using EO vector embeddings to apply to attend.

Sprint goal
Draft and align on a practical specification that can be tested,, extended, and adopted by the broader EO community.

Who should apply

  • Practitioners actively generating EO vector embeddings
  • Teams building or using vector embeddings in EO applications
  • Participants able to attend both days in person and continue engagement afterward

  • Sprint limited to ~15 participants
  • Travel support available based on need
  • Follow-on collaboration via CNG Slack and GitHub
  • A second workshop will take place in Zürich later this year
