	TALK ON BIGDATA An Overview of BigData & its relation with Enterprise Data Warehouses
IEEE Computer Society, Hyderabad Chapter and ACM Hyderabad Chapter with support from Progress Software takes great pleasure in inviting you to a talk on "An overview of BigData and its relation with Enterprise Data Warehouses" by Manish Bhide and Srinivas Kiran Mittapalli from IBM India Software labs. Agenda 5:30 PM - 5:50 PM: Registration/Networking and Tea 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Talk on "An overview of BigData and its relation with Enterprise Data Warehouses" 7:00 PM - 7:15 PM: Q&A, Interactive Session Abstract There is an increasing focus on BigData today in the enterprise world. This talk will provide an overview of BigData and the three V's that characterize big data. The talk will also cover the different technologies that exist in the Big Data world and provide real world examples of how these technologies has been used by enterprises to perform analytics. One important question that is often asked is about the role of enterprise data warehouses and data integration tools in the Big Data world. The speakers will talk about how these two technologies compliment each other, rather than competing with each other and show what value people can derive by making use of both of them in conjunction. The talk does not require the audience to have expertise in BigData technologies. About the speakers Manish Bhide Manish is the Information Server BigData Integration architect. In his role Manish is responsible for driving all BigData integration features of Information Server. He works closely with Product Management and the product leadership to identify future growth/focus areas for the product. Manish is also a IBM Master Inventor.  This is a title given by IBM to a very small set of employees as a recognition for the employees leadership in developing IBM's patent portfolio, both through their personal inventions, and through mentoring of IBM employees.  Manish has filed more than 30 patents and has more than 20 publications in IEEE/ACM conferences. He is currently pursuing his PhD from IIT Bombay and is expected to graduate later this year. Srinivas Kiran Mittapalli Kiran leads the Big Data Development at IBM India Software labs. Kiran has been with IBM last 7 years and has about 16 years of IT experience in Databases, Data Integration space, building highly scalable parallel processing based engines, data access layers.  He has authored multiple patents and papers in the BigData and Information Integration area.
