The projections about the Big Data have come true, proving that the big data revolution that we are in is irreversible. We have tremendous opportunity in front of us. The Web/Internet based companies such as Yahoo, Google, Netflix, Facebook and LinkedIn have already used these technologies to a great effect and innovating by the day. However, Fortune 500 companies are a tad slow to deploy their big data applications due to the skills shortage or caught up in funding cycles. There are IT decision makers also, who needs a little education in terms of various use cases for them to create a compelling business case for Big Data projects. It could open up high end, non-trivial service employment opportunities worldwide and particularly in India, if we are prepared to embrace the opportunity of Big data. In this forum, we want to deliberate and articulate the impact of Big Data from multiple viewpoints Technological and Business.
