EManthana-2012 The National level paper presentation began exactly at 10am on Friday 28th of September. A superb Bharathanatyum was performed by Punitha D.K and Shruthi B.R of 5th sem E&C department. The show was hosted by Shah Faisal of 7th sem E&C department and Ranjitha. Megha and group sought the blessings of the Almighty by their soothing song.
“Light represents knowledge and knowledge gives wisdom”. Honorable guests lit the lamp to represent the initiation of the function.
“A warm welcome is better than a good dinner” Prof N.P.Srinivasa Head of the department E&C welcomed the guests and the gathering. Dr N.R.Shetty and Dr Srinivas Rao Kunte were the chief guests of this function. Our principle C.K Subbaraya also attended this function.
N.S Athmiya the Chairman of IEEE student’s branch introduced Dr N.R Shetty to the gathering.
The introduction of Dr Shrinivas Rao Kunte was given by Gowthami B.U of 7th sem E&C department.
Dr N.R Shetty in his speech admired our institution by saying that our institution is very traditional and well equipped. In spite of being very far away from the big cities the name of our institution is shining bright.
He expressed little disappointment about the present higher education scenario of our country. He added by saying that Indian universities are lagging behind and need reformation.He also mentioned about the 12th five year plan, the government of India is thinking to make higher education non profitable.
Dr Srinivas Rao Kunte started his speech by wishing everyone in kannada. He suggested students to use the present day advanced technology to improve their knowledge.
Dr C.K Subbaraya started his speech by praising Dr N.R Shetty and Dr Shrinivas Rao Kunte. He said that innovation and creativity are the key for success and for confident person the sky is the limit. He also said that India has the largest youth population in the world. Therefore India has the greatest chance of being No.1 country in the world.
Prof Anil Kumar sir thanked the gathering.
A technical talk was given by Dr Shrinivas Rao Kunte on character recognition, neural networks, wavelet transforms, image processing and macro computer systems.
We got over 80 papers and among those the best 32 papers were selected. After the inauguration we had two sessions of paper presentation which ran parallel. After the completion of the two sessions paper presentation we had valedictory in the evening where the prizes were given to the winners.
