Dear all,

We are organizing the WISARD 2011 workshop in Bangalore on January 4
and
5, 2011. The venue is Hotel Chancery Pavilion.

Please encourage your students to attend. The goal of the workshop is
provide a platform for researchers from both academia and industry to
present and discuss high quality research and development in the area
of
wireless systems. We have lined up several interesting line invited
talks, regular papers, and demos this year.

The detailed call for participation of WISARD 2011 follow below. Also
attached is a PDF flyer inviting participation.

WISARD 2011 workshop, January 4-5, 2011

(Held in conjunction with COMSNETS 2011)

The fifth annual workshop on "Wireless Systems: Advanced Research and
Development" (WISARD 2011) will provide a platform for researchers
from
both academia and industry to present and discuss high quality
research
and development in the area of wireless systems.

A key goal of the workshop is to expose researchers in India to front
line research in wireless systems, and provide a platform for them to
interact with leading researchers from India and abroad.

Workshop highlights:
The workshop will feature 7 invited talks, 6 regular paper
presentations, and 5 demonstrations. It also features a special PhD
forum presentation on "How to do research?"

Invited talks and speakers:
1. Interference Management in Wireless Networks, Sibi Raj Pillai (IIT
Bombay)
2. Social Media Tools for the Bottom of the Pyramid, Aditeshwar Seth
(IIT Delhi)
3. Double-differential Modulation for Collocated and Distributed
Antenna
Systems, Manav Bhatnagar (IIT Delhi)
4. Ten years of capturing, sanitizing, and sharing Wi-Fi traces:
Lessons
and future challenges, David Kotz (Dartmouth College, USA)
5. Bartendr: A Practical Approach to Energy-aware Cellular Data
Scheduling, Vishnu Navda (Microsoft Research Labs, Bangalorea)

In addition, invited talks will be given by Krishna Chintalapudi
(Microsoft Research Labs, Bangalore) and Venkatesh R. (IIT Madras).

1. Google Noticeboard - Using a well-understood metaphor
2. 6PANview: A network monitoring system for the "Internet of Things"
3. E-DTN: A Multi-Interface Energy DTN Gateway
4. SmartConnect: A System for the Design and Deployment of Industrial
Wireless Sensor Networks
5. Providing QoS to Real and Non-real Time Applications over WiMAX
Networks: Implementation over a Hybrid Testbed

Travel grants: Travel grants to encourage participation from students
