Position Description:
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Senior Design Engineer's role will focus
on advanced chassis module concept design and customer opportunity
development. Responsibilities will include engineering of chassis modules
including CAD based design/analysis, creation of sub-system and
component specifications, coordination of the sub-systems and component
design activities within TRW and with suppliers.
Experience Required:
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in systems
engineering, broad knowledge of light vehicle chassis systems and previous
success in bringing chassis systems to market. Core competencies must
include: steering, suspension and braking system functions/interactions at
the vehicle level, including the ability to create cascaded systems
specifications; vehicle dynamics and NVH; design, analysis and testing
techniques for ride/handling, NVH and durability/reliability development, both
vehicle and lab based; appreciation of the VM's process of
packaging/engineering/cost design decision making.
Position qualifications: Minimum Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering,
higher degree preferred; 5+ years relevant experience; proven leadership,
management and communications skills; industry reputation through
technical publications; ability to travel globally (approx 10%).
