Hey, I've been looking a lot around the internet and all of the arms use the same basic designs and I really want to make an arm that is more functional and a little bit more solid. The arm designed Mike made is great but every join wiggles a little bit and it adds up to make the arm wobble quite a bit. Also, this design is more like the physical shape of an arm, and I think will be easier to control with your own arm. Attached is a video of my design in Inventor and if you like it let me know, I'm thinking I'll make it not as wide as it is shown.

Notes that go with video:

You will notice that there are holes that extend from the forearm down into the joint and thats where the actuators would be attached and they would move the arm very quickly with only a little movement which could be bad or good, make the arm faster but less accurate.

I'm very impressed Chris.
1)Did you also want to make it move side to side?
2)would it be raised above the chassis or would we adjust the front of the robot's chassis?

1) I would install it ontop of a turntable similar to what we already have, just geared more toward the size and shape of the new arm.
2) Because it would be on a platform it would be the same height of the front bumper making it able to stretch out completly flat for the lower arm and then the forearm would be able to be lowered below that level.
