Greetings from IEEE-UVCE!
We are pleased to inform you that we are conducting our annual technical extravaganza "IMPETUS'12" on the 30th and 31st of March 2012. Every year as a part of Impetus, we hold a section level event by the name "SUMMIT". This year the summit is to be held on 31st of march and will comprise of a Panel discussion and Student Parliament. The Panel discussion will consist of newly elected hub leaders as panelists discussing on the topic Engineering and Society. The Student Parliament will follow the Panel Discussion wherein, teams of four students from different college will join hands to propose a resolution for the given topic.
The topic for Panel Discussion will be :"How IEEE can help fill the void of application oriented engineering in our curriculum".
The Panel will comprise of 5 students apart from you.Engineering has been a sought after course at the
Undergraduate level,mainly for the vast job market that lies ahead.The current engineering curriculum does not
support applied engineering thereby curbing our imagination.Through the panel discussion we hope to discuss ways through
which we can address this problem and use the platform provided by IEEE to apply our knowledge in our everyday lives.
As future leaders,the Panelists will put forth their opinion/ideas/solutions on the topic by speaking on it for a few minutes.It will
then be open for discussion.There will be a general Q&A session directed towards the panelists.
We hope to make students realize the importance of applied engineering and the role of IEEE in carving out the engineer
in us.
We formally invite you to send a representation from your esteemed institution for the Student Parliament. Please confirm the participation as soon as possible. In case you need accommodation do let us know at the earliest.For outstation participants,either the travel expenses* or the accommodation will be taken care of depending on the wish of participants.Greetings from IEEE-UVCE!
