A Microgrid (MG) or localized mini-grids are independent energy sources paired with storage, automated with intelligent devices and often islanded or connected to macro-grid. MG leverage renewable & distributed generation and is an inevitable solution to the imminent energy crisis with lower environmental impact than current energy technologies. However for this current renewable energy boom to retain this pace, there is an urgent need to understand the barriers of proliferation, latest technologies, build broad strategies and discover importance of energy independence.
NSTE 2013 will present a valued forum to discuss modern approaches, exchange ideas, share best practices, exhibit innovations or find alternative solutions to contemporary challenges in renewable energy, microgrid and allied areas. Focus areas are mainly Technology & Market penetration Issues, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Renewable Energy (RE), Distributed Generation (DG), Automation and Analytics in Real-time deployments.

Clean Energy Exhibition
To ensure that you have not missed out the best of the happenings in the MicroGrid, Clean Energy and Renewable Energy space, a small exhibition on the latest OEM products, prototypes and demonstration are arranged as part of NSTE’13. The Exhibition will cover:
- Renewable Energy Components.
- Power and energy system applications (generation, transmission, distribution, markets, operations and planning)
- Intelligent monitoring and Power management systems.
- Communication and Control of Renewable Energy Systems.
- Smart sensors and advanced metering infrastructure.
Innovation Contest
Innovation Contest provides a unique platform for Students as well as Young Engineers to demonstrate their innovative ideas and talent that leads to the future technological growth of Renewable Energy/Sustainable Micro Grids. The contest is about being innovative and creative to find solutions to the real-time problems existing in the world. The participants to welcome to show their products, ideas and solution regardless at any stage of research, at prototype or ready for commercial application in the form of posters (4*5'size).
Registrations
All Registrations are online, however fee is accepted only as local Cheque/DD drawn in the name of 'IEEE Hyderabad Section'. The fee to be received before Jan 15, 2013 (Early-bird registrations) or Feb 10, 2013 (Normal registrations).

Spot registrations are NOT available at venue, prior-registration and confirmation is mandatory. Participation in the Innovation contest or exhibiting prototypes in the exhibition by members is free, however all proposals need to reach before deadline. Equal seats are reserved for each category (Member/Student/Non-members/Senior members) and confirmed participants will be intimated by Feb 19, 2013.

How to reach venue
Danube is a state of art auditorium at Mahindra Satyam Learning World campus and seats 500 participants. Located at the heart of Hitec city; it is around 20kms away from Imliban Bus Stand/Secunderabad Railway station and 50kms away from Shamshabad RG International Airport.
