NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standards - Cyber Security

THE PRESENTATION:
William Vesely is currently a Senior Specialist within Con Edison currently addressing compliance to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) Standards and Cyber Security endeavors. William primarily focuses on transmission substation control systems. William served in the United States Navy stationed aboard a Nuclear Submarine out of Pearl Harbor HI. He was responsible for maintenance and operation of satellite communications, intelligence photography, and electronic surveillance assets. He was recognized as being directly involved in the improvement and incident free operation of communication security and cryptographic material control. William performed physical security and briefed personnel on intelligence information. In addition to security, William has drafted local procedures, provided training, and performed and coordinated work control efforts. William was qualified in fleet quality assurance work and performed training functions in electrical distribution nuclear operations at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kesselring. William holds a B.S degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Excelsior College, in addition to other technical specialty education.
