Technical Seminar - The Internet of Things (IoT)
November 20, Friday, 6~ 8:00 PM at LIU-Brooklyn, Room: HS 119
Dr. Kevin W. Lu, Adjunct Professor, Stevens Tech.
Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) promises far reaching changes to how we work, play, and live. More and more things are connected, addressable, and controllable via the Internet. It is a technology growth area with considerable commercial possibilities. Many companies have already set their respective IoT strategies. The evolution of the IoT may still play out in the long term. This presentation provides an overview of the IoT. It describes use cases and building blocks such as sensor networks, communication protocols, application programming interfaces (APIs), systems design and management, and data analytics.
