Dear all,
Here is the call for applications to participate in the Kick-Off Meeting of the Global Youth for Biodiversity Network (GYBN) which will take place from August 21st to 27th, 2012 in Berlin, Germany
and organized by the GYBN Interim Steering Committee and NAJU (Naturschutzjugend - German Youth Association for the Protection of Nature - http://www.naju.de).
The focus of the meeting will be on the establishment of GYBN and the preparation of youth participation at 11th Conference of Parties at the Commission on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP11 to be held in October this year in India. The event will bring together a number of 35 global young environmentalists, youth activists and youth experts who will work on the structure, mandate, membership and coordination etc. of the GYBN and will also establish the global network as well as develop plans and political targets for meaningful youth participation at CBD COP11.
The idea behind the GYBN is to create a global youth network that unites young people and youth organizations from all parts of the world and all walks of life through one common goal: to halt the loss of biodiversity as soon as possible ! Therefore the GYBN’s mission is to provide a global platform to get in touch with each other and have the opportunity to join forces for the protection of biological diversity on our planet. The network also aims to become the international coordination platform for youth participation in the CBD and is committed to bring the opinions and positions of youth into the negotiations. It is officially supported by the CBD Secretariat.
Be a part of the solution now by applying and help to halt the loss of biodiversity. Find attached a flyer and the application online at: http://www.naju.de/english/gybn/application/
