Dear Team,
I need your help regarding the modeling of a powerplant with oxyfuel capture technology. According to the IECM manual, the auxiliary power produced would be only there if the user choose an auxiliary boiler in the boiler option (Screenshot attached). While modeling the powerplant with oxyfuel, there is no such option to select or deselect the auxiliary boiler Base plant and in CO2 capture, Transport, and storage. Therefore, is there any way to not have an auxillary boiler attached to the system?
Also, the technical report for oxyfuel and the results tab under the CO2 capture system do not show any additional steam turbines attached. So more details on the auxillary power produced would be helpful.

Thanks and Regards,
Yuvraj

Yuvraj,

We apologize for the confusion. There actually isn't an auxiliary boiler in oxyfuel systems; it's an error in the user manual. It should say this:

"Auxiliary Power Produced: (Only shown for Oxyfuel or a CO2 capture system with an option for an auxiliary boiler.) For oxyfuel systems, this is based on the Air Separation Unit (ASU) and Flue Gas Recycle (FGR) cooling duty recovered as heat integration. For all other systems, this is the additional power produced by the auxiliary boiler, or zero if no auxiliary boiler is configured."

Thank you for pointing this out; it will be corrected in the next release.
