Project Manager (Pasadena, CA)

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful design and planning of projects and for the organizing, coordination, implementing of these projects. Typically develops personal work assignments from supervisor and company generated data, and customer and company interactions, and utilizes this input to prioritize personal work assignments to achieve defined performance criteria. The successful candidate will be able to effectively work alone or in groups with others at all levels of the customer, vendor, and company organizations. This position does not directly supervise personnel, but indirectly manages the work of various internal and external/vendor personnel. The Project Manager position provides the opportunity to wear many hats, delve into integral operations and demonstrate your understanding of business strategy.

Job Duties / Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
60 - Percent
• Oversee, coordinate and execute prioritized projects following internal SDLC process and best practices
• Oversee / lead / support project management activities and deliverable development, including preparation and management of project documents (e.g., Project Initiation Document (PID), project charter, project plans, project status updates, issue and action item logs, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, project specific deliverables).
• Oversee / prepare and communicate project status updates and issue logs to project sponsors and stakeholders
• Change Management
• Manage issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend fact-base solutions
• Conduct project meetings and facilitate collaborative discussions
• Collaborate / coordinate with the execution of Quality Assurance (QA) testing in line with project milestones
• Conduct and memorialize project lessons learned sessions at project closure

30 - Percent
• Lead coordination and implementation of client-facing projects
• Define and execute user acceptance tests against business requirements with or on behalf of the business units for projects

10 - Percent
• Collaborate with Senior Management and key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, assumptions, dependencies, value proposition / rationale, and impacted organizational functions and systems
• Resolve conflicts and negotiate changes in project priorities and/or scope
• Oversee, coordinate and execute prioritized department and/or organization-wide projects following best practices
• Serve as liaison to business stakeholders on an ongoing basis
• Support the prioritization of business needs and manage expectations
• Provide coverage and thought leadership to the team to ensure they are "Connecting the Dots" across complex business challenges, often with many moving parts and firm-wide implications, developing an organized business solution meeting stakeholder/organizational needs
• Ensure effective communication with and between management, executive leadership, key stakeholders and project participants to manage expectations, provide status updates, ensure clarity and accountability of roles and responsibilities, escalate issues, and solicit ongoing feedback regarding the quality of the team's deliverables, incorporate feedback into team routines and/or new processes or tools;


Required Experience:
• 4+ years IT, Software, and Process Project Management progressively responsible experience
• Experience with technology implementations, custom development, and data and system integrations

Preferred Experience:
• SaaS software experience; implementation skills
• Vendor Management
• Experience working in or around local government
• SCRUM/Agile Experience
• Six Sigma and PMP certification a plus
