Jerusalem and surroundings Interfaith Encounter group- 2 encounters

The group met for a joint visit to one of the participants in the village of Ein Rafa, where he lives. The group arrived in Ein Rafa to explore the village, wander through its stunning green landscapes, and learn about the daily lives of its inhabitants through their eyes.

 

The group was accompanied by Mr. Barhoum, a prominent figure in the village, known as the village headman and a central figure respected by young and old alike. He began by giving a historical overview of Ein Rafa, a small Arab village nestled in the foothills west of Jerusalem, distinguished by its enchanting natural beauty and the springs that gave it its name. He spoke about the roots of the village's families, the coexistence among its inhabitants, and their attachment to the land despite the changes they have experienced over the years. He also shared stories from the local memory with the Jewish and Arab participants: how families relied on agriculture, how children used to play around the old spring, and how the village has retained its authentic rural character despite the development of the surrounding area. Mr. Barhoum continued his tour with the group, guiding them through the old alleyways and stone houses, pointing out historical sites and areas offering the most beautiful natural views of the valleys and mountains. During the tour, the group had the opportunity to listen to stories, ask questions, and develop a deeper understanding of life in the village and its place in the region.

 

After touring Ein Rafa, the group went for a light dinner at a local restaurant. They ate and chatted together. The visit was a unique opportunity to learn about a different culture, strengthen the bonds between group members, and create a space for honest and open dialogue.

The group, comprised of Muslims and Jews, met in Jerusalem on a rainy day, which created a warm and intimate atmosphere. Among the participants was a Jewish woman from the United States visiting Israel, giving us a chance to hear experiences of Hanukkah celebrations both from Israel and abroad.

 

The encounter began with greetings and introductions, followed by the topic of discussion: Hanukkah, its origins, meanings, and rituals. The Jewish participants explained that Hanukkah lasts eight days and that this year it begins on Sunday evening and ends on Monday of the following week.

 

They discussed the miracle of the oil in Hanukkah, the central theme of the story: according to Jewish tradition, when the Maccabees recaptured the Temple after the war, they found a small bottle of oil sufficient for only one day, yet it continued to burn for eight full days. This is why the Hanukkiah (the menorah of Hanukkah) is lit gradually, one candle at a time, until all eight candles are lit.

 

The Jewish participants also shared how they celebrate this holiday in their homes: lighting candles every evening as a family; eating deep-fried foods like Suffganiah and Latkes (potato fritters); singing Hanukkah songs; and giving small gifts to children.

 

One of the participants, a visitor from the United States, added another dimension to the discussion, explaining how the atmosphere of Hanukkah differs there, especially in American Jewish communities. The celebrations are sometimes larger to compensate for the presence of Christmas in the public sphere. Events are also held in community centers and Jewish schools. Gifts are given to children in larger and more symbolic ways. Homes are sometimes decorated with simple lights to enhance the atmosphere.

 

The encounter concluded with Mohammed playing the oud, which created a lovely atmosphere for the group.

קבוצת המפגש הבין דתי ירושלים והסביבה - 2 מפגשים

הקבוצה נפגשה לביקור במשותף של אחד המשתתפים בכפר עין ראפה, שם הוא מתגורר. הקבוצה הגיעה לעין ראפה כדי להכיר את הכפר, לשוטט בנופיו הירוקים המדהימים וללמוד על חיי היומיום של תושביו דרך עיניהם.

 

הקבוצה לווה על ידי מר ברהום, דמות בולטת בכפר, המכונה ראש הכפר ודמות מרכזית המכובדת על ידי צעירים ומבוגרים כאחד. הוא פתח בסקירה היסטורית של עין ראפה, כפר ערבי קטן השוכן למרגלות הגבעות ממערב לירושלים, המאופיין ביופיו הטבעי הקסום ובמעיינות שנתנו לו את שמו. הוא דיבר על שורשי משפחות הכפר, על הדו-קיום בין תושביו ועל הקשר שלהם לאדמה למרות השינויים שחוו במהלך השנים. הוא גם שיתף סיפורים מהזיכרון המקומי עם המשתתפים היהודים והערבים: כיצד משפחות הסתמכו על חקלאות, כיצד ילדים נהגו לשחק סביב המעיין העתיק, וכיצד הכפר שמר על אופיו הכפרי האותנטי למרות פיתוח האזור שמסביב. מר ברהום המשיך את סיורו עם הקבוצה, והוביל אותם דרך הסמטאות העתיקות ובתי האבן, והצביע על אתרים היסטוריים ואזורים המציעים את הנופים הטבעיים היפים ביותר של העמקים וההרים. במהלך הסיור, הייתה לקבוצה הזדמנות להקשיב לסיפורים, לשאול שאלות ולפתח הבנה מעמיקה יותר של החיים בכפר ומקומו באזור.

 

לאחר הסיור בעין ראפה, הקבוצה יצאה לארוחת ערב קלה במסעדה מקומית. הם אכלו ושוחחו יחד. הביקור היה הזדמנות ייחודית ללמוד על תרבות שונה, לחזק את הקשרים בין חברי הקבוצה וליצור מרחב לדיאלוג כן ופתוח.

הקבוצה, שהורכבה ממוסלמים ויהודים, נפגשה בירושלים ביום גשום, מה שיצר אווירה חמה ואינטימית. בין המשתתפים הייתה אישה יהודייה מארצות הברית שביקרה בישראל, מה שאפשר לנו לשמוע חוויות חגיגות חנוכה בארץ ובחו"ל.

 

המפגש החל בברכות והיכרות, ולאחר מכן המשיך לנושא העיקרי של השיחה: חנוכה, מקורותיו, משמעויותיו וטקסיו. המשתתפים היהודים הסבירו שחנוכה נמשך שמונה ימים ושהשנה הוא מתחיל ביום ראשון ומסתיים ביום שני של השבוע שלאחר מכן.

 

הם דנו בנס פך השמן בחנוכה, הנושא המרכזי של הסיפור: על פי המסורת היהודית, כאשר המכבים כבשו מחדש את בית המקדש לאחר המלחמה, הם מצאו בקבוק שמן קטן שהספיק ליום אחד בלבד, אך הוא המשיך לבעור במשך שמונה ימים מלאים. זו הסיבה שהחנוכיה של חנוכה דולקת בהדרגה, נר אחד נוסף בכל פעם, עד שכל שמונת הנרות דולקים.

 

המשתתפים היהודים גם שיתפו כיצד הם חוגגים את החג הזה בבתיהם: מדליקים נרות בכל ערב כמשפחה; אוכלים מאכלים מטוגנים כמו סופגניה ולביבות תפוחי אדמה; שרים שירי חנוכה; ומעניקים מתנות קטנות לילדים.

אחת המשתתפים, מבקרת מארצות הברית, הוסיפה מימד נוסף לדיון, והסבירה כיצד אווירת חנוכה שונה שם, במיוחד בקהילות יהודיות אמריקאיות. החגיגות לפעמים גדולות יותר כדי לפצות על נוכחות חג המולד במרחב הציבורי. אירועים מתקיימים גם במרכזים קהילתיים ובבתי ספר יהודיים. מתנות ניתנות לילדים בדרכים גדולות וסמליות יותר. בתים לפעמים מקושטים באורות פשוטים כדי לשפר את האווירה.

 

המפגש הסתיים בנגינת עוד של מוחמד, מה שיצר אווירה נעימה לקבוצה.

اللقاء بين الديانات ومجموعة القدس وما حولها -  لقاءاتين 

 

13 تشرين الثاني 2025

التقت المجموعة معًا بعد أن اتفقوا على القيام بزيارة مشتركة إلى أحد المشاركين في اللقاءات، في قرية عين رافة حيث يسكن. كان اللقاء مُخططًا له مسبقًا، بحيث يتم اصطحاب المجموعة إلى عين رافة للتعرّف على القرية، التجوّل في طبيعتها الخلّابة والخضراء، والتعرّف على الحياة اليومية لأهلها من خلال عيون أبنائها.

 

اصطحب المجموعة السيد برهوم، وهو أحد الشخصيات البارزة في القرية، إذ يُعرف بكونه مختار البلدة وشخصية محورية يعرفه الكبير والصغير. بدأ حديثه بتقديم نبذة تاريخية عن عين رافة ؛ قرية عربية صغيرة تقع على سفوح الجبال غرب القدس، وتتميّز بطبيعتها الساحرة وعيون الماء التي منحَتها اسمها. تحدّث عن جذور العائلات في القرية، وعن التعايش بين أهلها، وعن تمسّكهم بالأرض رغم ما مرّ عليهم من تغيّرات عبر السنين. كما شارك المشاركين اليهود والعرب قصصًا من ذاكرة المكان: كيف كانت العائلات تعتمد على الزراعة، كيف كان الأطفال يلعبون حول عين الماء القديمة، وكيف بقيت القرية محافظة على طابعها الريفي الأصيل رغم تطوّر المنطقة المحيطة. واصل برهوم جولته مع المجموعة، مُرشدًا إيّاهم بين الأزقّة القديمة والبيوت الحجرية، مُشيرًا إلى المواقع التاريخية، وإلى المناطق التي تُظهر أجمل الإطلالات الطبيعية على الوديان والجبال. خلال الجولة، أتيحت للمجموعة فرصة للاستماع إلى حكايات، وطرح الأسئلة، وبناء فهم أعمق للحياة في القرية ولمكانتها في المنطقة.

 

بعد ان تجولوا  المجموعة في عين رافة ذهبت المجموعة لتناول العشاء الخفيف في مطعم عين رافة حيث تناول الطعام واستمروا في تبادل الحديث معا في المطعم .  كانت الزيارة فرصة مميزة للتعرّف على ثقافة مختلفة، وتعزيز العلاقة بين أعضاء المجموعة، وإتاحة مساحة لحوار صادق ومفتوح بين الجميع.

التقت المجموعة معًا، مكوّنة من مسلمين ويهود، في القدس، في يوم ماطر مما أضفى على اللقاء جوًا دافئًا وحميميًا. ومن بين المشاركين كانت مشاركة يهودية مقيمة في الولايات المتحدة تزور البلاد، مما أتاح لنا فرصة التعرف على أجواء الاحتفال بالحانوكا داخل إسرائيل وخارجها.

 

بدأ اللقاء بالترحيب وتقديم المشاركين، ثم انتقلنا إلى موضوع اللقاء: عيد الحانوكا وأصوله، معانيه، وطقوس الاحتفال به. شرح المشاركون اليهود أن الحانوكا يستمر ثمانية أيام، وأن العيد هذا العام يبدأ يوم الأحد وينتهي يوم الاثنين من الأسبوع التالي.

 

وتطرّقوا إلى سر الزيت في الحانوكا، وهو الجوهر المركزي للقصة: فبحسب التقليد اليهودي، عندما استعاد المكابيون الهيكل بعد الحرب، وجدوا قنينة صغيرة من الزيت تكفي ليوم واحد فقط، لكنها استمرت في الإضاءة ثمانية أيام كاملة؛ ولهذا يُشعَل "الحنوكيّة" (شمعدان الحانوكا) تدريجيًا كل يوم شمعة إضافية حتى تكتمل الثمانية.

 

كما شاركنا المشاركون اليهود كيف يحتفلون بهذا العيد في بيوتهم: إشعال الشموع كل مساء بالعائلة. وتناول الأطعمة المقلية بالزيت مثل السوفغنية واللاتكس (فطائر البطاطا). وايضا غناء الأناشيد الخاصة بالحانوكا. كما تقديم الهدايا الصغيرة للأطفال.

 

وأضفت إحدى المشاركات الزائرات من الولايات المتحدة بُعدًا آخر للحديث، إذ شرحت كيف تختلف أجواء الحانوكا هناك، خاصة في المجتمعات اليهودية الأمريكية ؛ الاحتفالات تكون أحيانًا أكبر لتعويض حضور عيد الميلاد المسيحي في الأجواء العامة. كما تُقام فعاليات في المراكز المجتمعية والمدارس اليهودية. كما تُعطى الهدايا بشكل أكبر وأكثر رمزية للأطفال.

 

كما تُزيَّن البيوت أحيانًا بأضواء بسيطة لتعزيز روح العيد اختُتم اللقاء بعزف محمد على العود  مما اضفى  جوا جميلا على المجموعة .
