Global Dialogue Series (International Interfaith Encounter Group)- 2 encounters

 

December 20th 2025

The encounter focused on exploring silence and gestures across different cultures, discussing how these non-verbal forms of communication convey respect, spirituality, and hospitality. Participants shared personal experiences and cultural insights, highlighting both positive and negative aspects of silence, as well as the power of gestures in various contexts. The conversation touched on greetings across cultures, the role of silence in religious practices, and the challenges of miscommunication due to cultural differences. Participants also reflected on the impact of technology on communication and the importance of understanding different expressions of respect and hospitality. The conversation ended with gratitude for the diverse perspectives shared and an announcement about an upcoming bonus encounter in January focused on the theme of welcoming strangers.

 

January 11th

We held the last encounter of our Global Dialogue series: Translating Differences. The encounter was facilitated by Feras, a young Christian from Bahrein, and focused on the topic of "loving the stranger" and explored how kindness can bridge cultural and religious differences. Participants shared personal experiences of being outsiders or extending hospitality to others in unfamiliar settings. The discussion highlighted both challenges and opportunities for interfaith dialogue, with participants reflecting on how religious differences can either serve as obstacles or become bridges for friendship. The conversation included perspectives from various cultural and religious backgrounds, including experiences from Indonesia, China, the Middle East, and Europe.

סדרת דיאלוג עולמי (קבוצת המפגש הבין דתי הבינלאומית) - 2 מפגשים

המפגש התמקד בשיחה על שתיקה ומחוות פיסיות בתרבויות שונות, תוך דיון כיצד צורות תקשורת לא מילוליות אלו מעבירות כבוד, רוחניות ואירוח. המשתתפים שיתפו חוויות אישיות ותובנות תרבותיות, תוך הדגשת היבטים חיוביים ושליליים של שתיקה, כמו גם כוחן של מחוות בהקשרים שונים. השיחה נגעה בברכות בין תרבויות, תפקיד השתיקה במנהגים דתיים ובאתגרים של תקשורת לקויה עקב הבדלים תרבותיים. המשתתפים גם דיברו על השפעת הטכנולוגיה על התקשורת ועל החשיבות של הבנת ביטויים שונים של כבוד ואירוח. השיחה הסתיימה בהכרת תודה על נקודות המבט המגוונות שהוזכרו ובהזמנה למפגש בונוס קרוב בינואר שיתמקד בנושא קבלת האחר.

 

11 בינואר

קיימנו את המפגש האחרון בסדרת הדיאלוג הגלובלי שלנו: תרגום הבדלים. המפגש הונחה על ידי פראס, נוצרי צעיר מבחריין, והתמקד בנושא "אהבת הזר" ודיון בדרכים בהם טוב לב יכול לגשר על הבדלים תרבותיים ודתיים. המשתתפים שיתפו חוויות אישיות של היות זרים או הרחבת אירוח לזרים. הדיון הדגיש הן אתגרים והן הזדמנויות לדיאלוג בין דתי, כאשר המשתתפים הרהרו כיצד הבדלים דתיים יכולים לשמש כמכשולים או להפוך לגשרים לידידות. השיחה כללה נקודות מבט מרקעים תרבותיים ודתיים שונים, כולל חוויות מאינדונזיה, סין, המזרח התיכון ואירופה.

سلسلة الحوار العالمي: ترجمة الاختلافات (المجموعة الدولية) - لقاءان

 

20 كانون الأول
ركّز اللقاء على استكشاف الصمت والإيماءات في ثقافات مختلفة، وكيف يمكن لهذه الأشكال من التواصل غير اللفظي أن تعبّر عن الاحترام والروحانية والضيافة. شارك المشاركون تجارب شخصية ورؤى ثقافية، وتحدّثوا عن الجوانب الإيجابية والسلبية للصمت، وكذلك عن قوة الإيماءات في سياقات مختلفة. كما تطرّق الحوار إلى طرق التحية في الثقافات المختلفة، ودور الصمت في الممارسات الدينية، والتحديات التي قد تنشأ عن سوء الفهم بسبب الاختلافات الثقافية.وتأمل المشاركون أيضًا في تأثير التكنولوجيا على التواصل، وأهمية فهم الطرق المختلفة للتعبير عن الاحترام والضيافة.واختُتم اللقاء بالتعبير عن الامتنان لتنوّع وجهات النظر التي طُرحت، مع الإعلان عن لقاء إضافي في شهر  كانون  الثاني   سيتمحور حول موضوع الترحيب بالغرباء.

 

11 كانون الثاني
عُقد اللقاء الأخير ضمن سلسلة الحوار العالمي: ترجمة الاختلافات. أدار اللقاء فراس، وهو شاب مسيحي من البحرين، وتركّز النقاش حول موضوع "محبة الغريب" وكيف يمكن للطف والإنسانية أن يجسرا الفجوات الثقافية والدينية. كما شارك المشاركون تجارب شخصية حول شعورهم بأنهم غرباء في أماكن معينة، أو حول تقديم الضيافة للآخرين في بيئات غير مألوفة.وسلّط النقاش الضوء على التحديات والفرص في الحوار بين الأديان، حيث تأمّل المشاركون في كيفية تحوّل الاختلافات الدينية أحيانًا إلى عوائق، وأحيانًا أخرى إلى جسور للصداقة. وقد  شمل الحوار وجهات نظر من خلفيات ثقافية ودينية متنوعة، بما في ذلك تجارب من إندونيسيا، والصين، والشرق الأوسط، وأوروبا.
