Jerusalem-Hebron Interfaith Encounter Group- December 27, 2025

The group reconvened after a year-long hiatus due to the prevailing circumstances, despite ongoing communication between participants through phone calls and online encounters. The encounter, comprised of Muslim participants from Hebron and Jewish participants from jerusalem, was held in a restaurant, making food a natural starting point for discussion, specifically the concepts of halal in Islam and kosher in Judaism, and the differences and similarities between them.

 

Participants discussed the concept of halal food, which is based on clear religious rules, most notably the slaughter of animals according to Islamic law, the invocation of God's name during slaughter, and the prohibition of pork and its derivatives, as well as alcohol. The importance of verifying the source and purity of food was also emphasized, along with the understanding that food is an integral part of a Muslim's daily religious practice.

 

Conversely, participants discussed kosher food in Judaism, which is also governed by precise rules, such as the permissibility of consuming only specific types of animals, the requirement that they be slaughtered according to Jewish law, and the prohibition of pork, seafood, and certain types of fish. One of the fundamental rules of kosher diets is the complete separation of meat and dairy products, whether in cooking, serving, or the utensils used. In Jewish kitchens, there are specific utensils for meat and its derivatives that are not used for dairy products. For example, there is a separate sink for meat products and another for dairy, which surprised the Muslim participants because Muslims can eat meat and dairy products together, such as when preparing mansaf (a traditional Jordanian dish) with yogurt with chicken. Seafood is also permitted under halal dietary laws, unlike in Judaism. The participants also discussed the similarities between halal and kosher diets, noting that both are based on the concept of purity and religious observance, require specific slaughtering methods, prohibit pork, and encourage awareness of food origins and preparation methods. At the same time, they highlighted some differences, such as the separation of meat and dairy in kosher diet versus the prohibition of alcohol in halal diet.

 

This discussion contributed to a deeper mutual understanding among the participants and demonstrated how food can be a shared space for dialogue and learning about religious and cultural values, despite differences, within an atmosphere of respect and openness.

קבוצת המפגש הבין דתי ירושלים-חברון- 27 בדצמבר 2025

הקבוצה התכנסה מחדש לאחר הפסקה של שנה עקב הנסיבות, אם כי מתקיימת תקשורת מתמשכת בין המשתתפים באמצעות שיחות טלפון ומפגשים מקוונים. המפגש, שהורכב ממשתתפים מוסלמים מחברון ויהודים מירושלים, נערך במסעדה, מה שהפך את האוכל לנקודת מוצא טבעית לדיון, ובפרט במושגי חלאל באסלאם וכשרות ביהדות, ובהבדלים ובדמיון ביניהם.

 

המשתתפים דנו במושג החלאל, המבוסס על כללים דתיים ברורים, ובראשם שחיטת בעלי חיים על פי ההלכה האסלאמית, קריאת שם האל במהלך השחיטה, ואיסור על חזיר ונגזרותיו, כמו גם אלכוהול. הודגשה גם חשיבות אימות מקור וטוהר המזון, יחד עם ההבנה שמזון הוא חלק בלתי נפרד מהנוהג הדתי היומיומי של המוסלמי.

 

המשתתפים דנו גם במזון כשר ביהדות, אשר גם הוא מכוון על ידי כללים מדויקים, כגון היתר צריכת סוגים ספציפיים של בעלי חיים בלבד, הדרישה לשחיטתם על פי ההלכה היהודית, ואיסור על חזיר, פירות ים וסוגים מסוימים של דגים. אחד הכללים הבסיסיים של תזונה כשרה הוא הפרדה מוחלטת בין בשר למוצרי חלב, בין אם בבישול, בהגשה או בכלי המטבח. במטבחים יהודיים, ישנם כלים ספציפיים לבשר ונגזרותיו שאינם משמשים למוצרי חלב. לדוגמה, יש כיור נפרד למוצרי בשר ואחר למוצרי חלב, מה שהפתיע את המשתתפים המוסלמים מכיוון שמוסלמים יכולים לאכול בשר ומוצרי חלב יחד, כמו בעת הכנת מנסף (מאכל ירדני מסורתי) עם יוגורט ועוף. פירות ים מותרים גם על פי חוקי החלאל, בניגוד ליהדות. המשתתפים דנו גם בדמיון בין תזונה כשרה לתזונה חלאל, וציינו כי שתיהן מבוססות על תפיסת הטהרה והקיום הדתי, דורשות שיטות שחיטה ספציפיות, אוסרות על אכילת בשר חזיר ומעודדות מודעות למקורות המזון ושיטות ההכנה. יחד עם זאת, הם הדגישו כמה הבדלים, כגון הפרדת בשר ומוצרי חלב בתזונה כשרה לעומת איסור אלכוהול בתזונה חלאל.

 

דיון זה תרם להבנה הדדית עמוקה יותר בין המשתתפים והדגים כיצד אוכל יכול להיות מרחב משותף לדיאלוג ולמידה על ערכים דתיים ותרבותיים, למרות ההבדלים, באווירה של כבוד ופתיחות.

اللقاء بين الديانات لمجموعة  القدس والخليل - 27 كانون الاول 2025

اجتمعت المجموعة من جديد بعد انقطاع دام عامًا كاملًا بسبب الأوضاع السائدة، رغم استمرار التواصل بين المشاركين عبر المكالمات الهاتفية واللقاءات عبر الإنترنت. وقد ضمّ اللقاء مشاركين مسلمين ويهودًا من الخليل، وعُقد في أحد المطاعم، مما جعل موضوع الطعام نقطة انطلاق طبيعية للنقاش، وبالتحديد حول مفهومي الحلال في الإسلام والكاشير (الكوشير) في اليهودية، وأوجه الشبه والاختلاف بينهما.

 

تناول المشاركون مفهوم الطعام الحلال، الذي يقوم على قواعد دينية واضحة، من أبرزها ذبح الحيوان وفق الشريعة الإسلامية، وذكر اسم الله عند الذبح، وتحريم لحم الخنزير ومشتقاته، إضافة إلى تحريم الكحول. كما أُشير إلى أهمية التأكد من مصدر الطعام ونقائه، واعتبار الطعام جزءًا من الممارسة الدينية اليومية للمسلم.

 

وفي المقابل، ناقش المشاركون مفهوم الطعام الكاشير في اليهودية، والذي تحكمه أيضًا قوانين دقيقة، مثل السماح بتناول أنواع محددة من الحيوانات فقط، وضرورة ذبحها وفق الشريعة اليهودية، وتحريم لحم الخنزير والمأكولات البحرية وبعض أنواع السمك. ومن القواعد الأساسية في الكاشير الفصل التام بين اللحوم ومشتقات الحليب، سواء في الطهي أو التقديم أو الأدوات المستخدمة. ففي المطبخ اليهودي توجد أدوات خاصة للحوم ومشتقاتها لا تُستعمل لمنتجات الحليب. وعلى سبيل المثال، يوجد حوض (مجلى) منفصل لمنتجات اللحوم وآخر لمنتجات الحليب.

 

وقد أثار هذا الأمر استغراب بعض المشاركين المسلمين، إذ يمكن في الإسلام تناول اللحوم مع مشتقات الحليب معًا، كما في طبق المنسف (وهو طبق أردني تقليدي) الذي يجمع بين اللحم واللبن.

 

كما ناقش المشاركون أوجه التشابه بين الحلال والكاشير، مشيرين إلى أن كليهما يقوم على مفهوم الطهارة والالتزام الديني، ويشترط طرقًا محددة للذبح، ويحرّم لحم الخنزير، ويشجّع على الوعي بمصدر الطعام وكيفية تحضيره. وفي الوقت نفسه، أشاروا إلى بعض الاختلافات، مثل الفصل بين اللحوم ومنتجات الحليب في الكاشير، مقابل تحريم الكحول في الحلال.

وقد ساهم هذا النقاش في تعميق الفهم المتبادل بين المشاركين، وأظهر كيف يمكن للطعام أن يشكّل مساحة مشتركة للحوار والتعرّف على القيم الدينية والثقافية، رغم الاختلافات، ضمن أجواء من الاحترام والانفتاح.
