Interfaith Encounter Group in Hebron - 3 Encounters

After several times we had arranged to meet and failed, we were very happy to meet and see each other. Not only that, but no less than fourteen members came to the encounter, including about five new ones.

 

After a round of introductions, various participants, each in their own style, expressed our commitment to building good neighborly relations and the necessity of doing so through cooperation between people on the ground. We have the responsibility to teach each other the right things, not like what people hear in the press or in various institutions. We need to meet and build peace together. There are many problems and we need to work together to overcome them.

 

One participant emphasized that he finished this morning the mourning period for a relative and that he is also still recovering from pneumonia, yet he came because of the importance of the encounter. Another participant shared with the group how 15 years ago he was in an accident where Arabs helped his wife on the road, which opened him up to the conversation.

 

The group members have scheduled the next encounter and hope that they will now be able to meet regularly.

 

9.2.2026

We met again, together with the people who joined last time from another clan in the area, and new people joined – this time from the Jewish side.

Therefore, we started with an introduction round, in which, in addition to biographical details, the participants shared what brought them to the group.

 

The main messages were that God created the earth for all of us and that we must learn to live in peace. Peace must be built by both peoples together, regardless of the government. It is important to convey the message that this is possible and that it is possible to live together.

 

We were happy to hear about the plan to introduce Hebrew studies to Palestinian schools and expressed the hope that Arabic will also be taught in Jewish schools.

The group met on the date set at the end of the previous encounter, but because of the war with Iran and the lack of a protected space on the way from the Cave of the Patriarchs to the encounter place, we decided to meet online.

 

In practice, although fewer people came, we held the encounter as usual.

First, we checked in on everyone and how the war was going for them. After that, we talked for about an hour about various issues related to the relationship between Palestinian and Israeli society, while re-emphasizing the importance of the bonds that are built between neighbors.

קבוצת המפגש הבין דתי בחברון - 3 מפגשים

לאחר כמה וכמה פעמים שקבענו להפגש ולא הצלחנו, שמחנו מאד להפגש ולראות אלו את אלו. לא רק זה אלא שלא פחות מארבעה עשר חברים הגיעו למפגש, כולל כחמישה חדשים.

לאחר סבב היכרות הביעו משתתפים שונים, כל אחד בסגנונו, את המחוייבות שלנו לבנות קשרים של שכנות טובה

ואת ההכרח לעשות זאת דרך שיתופי פעולה של האנשים בשטח. יש עלינו אחריות ללמד את הדברים הנכונים אלו על אלו, לא כמו שאנשים שומעים בעיתונות או במוסדות שונים. צריך להפגש ולבנות יחד את השלום. יש הרבה בעיות וצריך לעבוד יחד כדי להתגבר עליהן.

 

אחד המשתתפים הדגיש שקם הבוקר מאבל וגם הוא עדיין מחלים מדלקת ריאות ובכל זאת הגיע בגלל החשיבות של המפגש. משתתף אחר חלק עם הקבוצה איך לפני 15 שנים היה בארוע שערבים עזרו לאשתו בדרך, מה שהוביל למפגש אים. בעקבות המפגש הוא נפתח לשיח.

חברי הקבוצה קבעו את המפגש הבא ומקווים שיצליחו כעת להפגש באופן סדיר.

 

9.2.2026

נפגשנו שוב, יחד עם האנשים שהצטרפו בפעם שעברה מחמולה נוספת באזור, והצטרפו אנשים חדשים – הפעם מהצד היהודי.

לכן התחלנו עם סבב היכרות, בו מלבד פרטים ביוגרפיים חלקו המשתתפים מה הביא אותם לקבוצה.

המסרים העיקריים היו שהאל ברא את האדמה לכולנו ואנחנו חייבים ללמוד לחיות בשלום. את השלום צריכים לבנות שני העמים ביחד, בלי קשר לממשלה. חשוב להעביר את המסר שזה אפשרי ושאפשר לחיות ביחד.

 

שמחנו לשמוע על התכנית להכניס לימודי עברית לבתי הספר הפלסטינים והבענו את התקווה שגם בבתי הספר היהודים ילמדו ערבית.

הקבוצה נפגשה בתאריך שנקבע בסוף המפגש הקודם אבל בגלל המלחמה התנהלת עם איראן והעדר מרחב מוגן בדרך ממערת המכפילה למקום המפגש, החלטנו להפגש באופן מקוון.

 

בפועל, למרות שהגיעו פחות אנשים מהרגיל קיימנו את המפגש כרגיל.

 

קודם כל בדקנו מה שלום כולם ואיך עוברת עליהם המלחמה. לאחר מכן דיברנו כשעה על נושאים משתנים הקשורים ליחס בין החברה הפלסטינית והחברה הישראלית, תוך הדגשה חוזרת של חשיבות הקשרים שנבנים בין שכנים.

بعد عدة محاولات لترتيب اللقاء لم تكلّل بالنجاح، شعرنا بسعادة كبيرة أخيرًا للالتقاء ورؤية بعضنا البعض. ولم يقتصر الأمر على ذلك، بل حضر اللقاء ما لا يقل عن أربعة عشر مشاركًا، من بينهم نحو خمسة جدد.

بعد جولة تعارف، عبّر المشاركون، كلٌ بأسلوبه، عن التزامهم ببناء علاقات حسن الجوار، وعن ضرورة تحقيق ذلك من خلال التعاون بين الناس على أرض الواقع. وأكدوا أن لدينا مسؤولية في تعليم بعضنا الأمور الصحيحة، وليس ما يُنقل عبر الإعلام أو بعض المؤسسات. نحن بحاجة إلى اللقاء والعمل معًا لبناء السلام، فهناك العديد من التحديات التي تتطلب تعاوننا لتجاوزها.

 

أحد المشاركين أشار إلى أنه أنهى صباح ذلك اليوم فترة الحداد على أحد أقاربه، ولا يزال يتعافى من التهاب رئوي، ومع ذلك حضر نظرًا لأهمية اللقاء. كما شارك مشارك آخر قصة من 15 عامًا، حين ساعد عرب زوجته على الطريق، وهو ما شكّل نقطة تحول بالنسبة له وفتح أمامه باب الحوار.

 

قام أعضاء المجموعة بتحديد موعد اللقاء القادم، مع أمل أن يتمكنوا من اللقاء بشكل منتظم.

التقينا مرة أخرى، بمشاركة الأشخاص الذين انضموا في اللقاء السابق من عشيرة أخرى في المنطقة، كما انضم مشاركون جدد هذه المرة من الجانب اليهودي.

 

لذلك بدأنا بجولة تعارف، شارك خلالها المشاركون، إلى جانب معلوماتهم الشخصية، الدوافع التي دفعتهم للانضمام إلى المجموعة.

 

تمحورت الرسائل الأساسية حول أن الله خلق الأرض للجميع، وأن علينا أن نتعلم العيش بسلام. يجب بناء السلام من قبل الشعبين معًا، بغض النظر عن الحكومات. ومن المهم إيصال رسالة مفادها أن ذلك ممكن، وأن العيش المشترك قابل للتحقيق.

 

كما عبّرنا عن سعادتنا لسماع خطة إدخال تعليم اللغة العبرية إلى المدارس الفلسطينية، وأعربنا عن الأمل في أن يتم أيضًا تعليم اللغة العربية في المدارس اليهودية.

اجتمعت المجموعة في الموعد الذي تم تحديده في نهاية اللقاء السابق، ولكن بسبب الحرب مع إيران، وعدم توفر أماكن محمية على الطريق من الحرم الإبراهيمي إلى مكان اللقاء، تقرر عقد اللقاء عبر الإنترنت.

 

وعلى الرغم من قلة عدد المشاركين، فقد تم عقد اللقاء كالمعتاد.


بدأنا بالاطمئنان على الجميع وكيف أثّرت الحرب عليهم، ثم دار نقاش استمر نحو ساعة حول قضايا مختلفة تتعلق بالعلاقة بين المجتمعين الفلسطيني والإسرائيلي، مع التأكيد مجددًا على أهمية الروابط التي تُبنى بين الجيران.
