Debate for Peace- 19 encounters between March and September 2025
March 25
Debate for Peace joined the Children of Abraham Iftar, the largest Israeli-Palestinian iftar in years, with nearly 1,000 people from all over the holy land: https://debateforpeace.org/2025/03/27/children-of-abraham-holds-largest-interfaith-iftar-in-the-holy-land-for-hundreds-of-israelis-and-palestinians-of-all-religious-backgrounds/
April 8
We held an online Model UN conference, as part of the EKOTECH 2025 conference hosted in Poland, to discuss sustainable urban living environments. Students from all over the world joined, including Poland, India, Israel, and the US.
April 28
We hosted JaffaMUN, the first Model UN conference ever held in Jaffa, with 50 students working in different committees on Human Rights related topics, from freedom of speech to inequalities, to school shootings. Following the conference we had a writing workshop led by Professor Evan Fallenberg from Bar Ilan University, and then a reading where our writers read pieces for an audience of about 40 people.
May 20
We held a meeting with the Embassy of the Netherlands, as 20 students from all over Israel met with diplomats for a discussion on education, diplomacy and peacebuilding.
May 28
MagharMUN was the second conference held in the mixed Druze-Muslim-Christian city of Maghar. As part of the conference, one committee participated in a new global initiative where the students represented the youth of their assigned country, and received certificates from a UN certified NGO and university.
June 15
We held an online debate titled "Attacking Iran now was Israel's Best Option", with 8 students participating.
June 22
Writers Matter virtual reading: We held a Zoom reading for participants of the writers matter program to share some of the pieces that they had written.
July 6
We held a 5 hour chairing workshop with 30 students from 20 schools, to help train students to be better prepared for facilitating group meetings, and encouraging beginner students to join.
July 10-11
Overnight writing workshop for teachers, in the old city of Akko. We had several hours of writing exercises, culminating in a session where teachers introduced their own prompts and we all took turns trying them. At the feedback session afterwards all the teachers, including Jewish, Muslim and Druze teachers from schools in the north, center and south, expressed their appreciation for the workshop.
July 17
We held a 5 hour workshop at the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv, focusing on peace negotiations, writing and storytelling, with students from 12 different schools joining.
July 18
Emily, Yair and Shibli spoke about their experiences for an audience at the Romanian Cultural Institute's monthly Talk series. They brought a lot of positive energy and inspiration to the room.
July 20
Writing workshop for students: we had a 6 hour interactive writing workshop for students in Jaffa, including visiting the port and old city.
July 22-29 (July 29)
First TOKA Peace Camp, with 17 students from Israel (9 Arab and 8 Jewish, from 10 schools), and 19 from Kosovo (Albanian and Serbian) along with 5 Americans. The group spent a week at the TOKA camp site working on peacebuilding activities, before holding a 1 day MUN conference in Pristina, and meeting with the UN mission and the foreign ministry. August 4-11
Our 4th annual trip to the United Nations in Vienna: Students from all over Israel, as well as Kosovo, met with the US and EU missions to the UN, various UN bodies, and the foreign ministry of Austria. On August 7th the group participated in a panel on Youth and Peacebuilding organized by the Women's Federation for World Peace, and several members received Young Peacebuilder awards.

August 17
The final chairing workshop of the summer, for another 10 students, to prepare them for facilitating committees at MUN conferences.
August 21
Writing workshop: we had another 6 hour interactive writing workshop for students in Jaffa, including visiting the port and old city, and using materials from the souq to prompt writing.
Aug. 19
We participated in the Tents for Justice, Humanity and Equality hosted by Bridges of Peace, with 150 Israelis and Palestinians meeting for a fun evening of camping.
Sep. 16-19
Steven participated in the Second Forum of Young Religious Leaders held in Astana, Kazakhstan. As the only speaker from Israel at the forum, he discussed the importance of using religious values to promote peace by embracing diversity in humanity from a religious perspective.

Steven ran an online workshop for educators in conflict zones, primarily from Africa, using examples and exercises from our activities here in Israel

קיימנו כנס מקוון בנושא מודל האו"ם, כחלק מכנס EKOTECH 2025 שהתקיים בפולין, כדי לדון בסביבות מגורים עירוניות בנות קיימא. סטודנטים מכל רחבי העולם הצטרפו, כולל פולין, הודו, ישראל וארצות הברית.

אירחנו את JaffaMUN, כנס מודל האו"ם הראשון שנערך אי פעם ביפו, עם 50 סטודנטים שעבדו בוועדות שונות בנושאים הקשורים לזכויות אדם, החל מחופש הביטוי ועד אי-שוויון ועד ירי בבתי ספר. לאחר הכנס התקיימה סדנת כתיבה בהנחיית פרופסור אוון פאלנברג מאוניברסיטת בר אילן, ולאחר מכן קריאה בה הכותבים שלנו קראו מאמרים בפני קהל של כ-40 איש.
20 במאי
קיימנו מפגש עם שגרירות הולנד, כאשר 20 סטודנטים מכל רחבי ישראל נפגשו עם דיפלומטים לדיון בנושא חינוך, דיפלומטיה ובניית שלום.
28 במאי
MagharMUN היה הכנס השני שנערך בעיר המעורבת דרוזית-מוסלמית-נוצרית מר'אר. כחלק מהכנס, ועדה אחת השתתפה ביוזמה עולמית חדשה שבה הסטודנטים ייצגו את בני הנוער של מדינתם, וקיבלו תעודות מארגון לא ממשלתי ואוניברסיטה מוסמכות על ידי האו"ם.

קיימנו דיבייט מקוון תחת הכותרת "תקיפת איראן עכשיו הייתה האפשרות הטובה ביותר של ישראל?", בהשתתפות 8 סטודנטים.
22 ביוני
קריאה וירטואלית של Writers Matter: קיימנו קריאה בזום למשתתפי תוכנית Writers Matter כדי לשתף כמה מהקטעים שכתבו.
6 ביולי
קיימנו סדנת הנחיה בת 5 שעות עם 30 תלמידים מ-20 בתי ספר, כדי לעזור להכשיר את התלמידים להיות מוכנים יותר להנחיית מפגשים קבוצתיים, ולעודד תלמידים מתחילים להצטרף.
10-11 ביולי
סדנת כתיבה בת יומיים למורים, בעיר העתיקה של עכו. קיימנו מספר שעות של תרגילי כתיבה, שהגיעו לשיאן במושב שבו המורים הציגו את ההנחיות שלהם וכולנו ניסינו אותן בתורנו. במפגש המשוב שלאחר מכן, כל המורים, כולל מורים יהודים, מוסלמים ודרוזים מבתי ספר בצפון, במרכז ובדרום, הביעו את הערכתם לסדנה.
17 ביולי
קיימנו סדנה בת 5 שעות במכון התרבות הרומני בתל אביב, שהתמקדה במשא ומתן לשלום, כתיבה וסיפור סיפורים, בהשתתפות תלמידים מ-12 בתי ספר שונים.
18 ביולי
אמילי, יאיר ושיבלי דיברו על חוויותיהם בפני קהל בסדרת השיחות החודשית של המכון התרבות הרומני. הם הביאו הרבה אנרגיה חיובית והשראה לחדר.
20 ביולי
סדנת כתיבה לתלמידים: ערכנו סדנת כתיבה אינטראקטיבית בת 6 שעות לתלמידים ביפו, שכללה ביקור בנמל ובעיר העתיקה.
22-29 ביולי (29 ביולי)
מחנה שלום ראשון של TOKA, עם 17 תלמידים מישראל (9 ערבים ו-8 יהודים, מ-10 בתי ספר), ו-19 מקוסובו (אלבנים וסרבים) יחד עם 5 אמריקאים. הקבוצה בילתה שבוע באתר מחנה TOKA ועבדה על פעילויות בניית שלום, לפני שקיימה כנס MUN בן יום אחד בפרישטינה, ונפגשה עם משלחת האו"ם ומשרד החוץ. למידע נוסף: https://debateforpeace.org/2025/08/05/debate-for-peace-cohosts-munkos-visits-unmik-and-foreign-ministry-of-kosovo/
4-11 באוגוסט
הנסיעה השנתית הרביעית שלנו לאומות המאוחדות בווינה: סטודנטים מכל רחבי ישראל, כמו גם מקוסובו, נפגשו עם משלחות ארה"ב והאיחוד האירופי לאו"ם, גופים שונים של האו"ם ומשרד החוץ של אוסטריה.
ב-7 באוגוסט הקבוצה השתתפה בפאנל בנושא נוער ובניית שלום שאורגן על ידי פדרציית הנשים לשלום עולמי, וכמה חברות קיבלו פרסי בוני שלום צעירים.
17 באוגוסט
סדנת הניהול האחרונה של הקיץ, עבור 10 סטודנטים נוספים, כדי להכין אותם להנחיית ועדות בכנסים של MUN.
21 באוגוסט
סדנת כתיבה: ערכנו סדנת כתיבה אינטראקטיבית נוספת בת 6 שעות לסטודנטים ביפו, שכללה ביקור בנמל ובעיר העתיקה, ושימוש בחומרים מהשוק כדי לעודד כתיבה.
19 באוגוסט
השתתפנו באוהלים לצדק, אנושיות ושוויון שאירחה גשרי השלום, עם 150 ישראלים ופלסטינים שנפגשו לערב קמפינג מהנה.
16-19 בספטמבר
סטיבן השתתף בפורום השני של מנהיגים דתיים צעירים שנערך באסטנה, קזחסטן. כדובר היחיד מישראל בפורום, הוא דן בחשיבות השימוש בערכים דתיים לקידום שלום על ידי אימוץ גיוון באנושות מנקודת מבט דתית.
ב-30 בספטמבר
סטיבן ניהל סדנה מקוונת למחנכים באזורי סכסוך, בעיקר מאפריקה, תוך שימוש בדוגמאות ותרגילים מפעילויותינו כאן בישראל.

شاركنا في إفطار أبناء إبراهيم، وهو أكبر إفطار إسرائيلي-فلسطيني خلال السنوات الأخيرة، بمشاركة نحو 1000 شخص من مختلف أنحاء الأرض المقدسة. رابط الحدث
8 نيسان
عقدنا مؤتمرًا عبر الإنترنت حول نموذج الأمم المتحدة ضمن مؤتمر ايكتوج 2025 في بولندا، لمناقشة البيئات الحضرية المستدامة. شارك طلاب من بولندا، الهند، إسرائيل، والولايات المتحدة.
28 نيسان
استضفنا يافا موديل أول مؤتمر نموذج أمم متحدة يُقام في يافا، بمشاركة 50 طالبًا ناقشوا قضايا تتعلق بحقوق الإنسان مثل حرية التعبير، عدم المساواة، وحوادث إطلاق النار في المدارس. بعد المؤتمر، عقدت ورشة كتابة بإشراف البروفيسور إيوان فالنبرغ من جامعة بار إيلان، واختُتمت بجلسة قراءة أمام جمهور من نحو 40 شخصًا.
20 ايار
أقمنا لقاءً مع سفارة هولندا بمشاركة 20 طالبًا من مختلف أنحاء إسرائيل، ناقشوا مع دبلوماسيين قضايا التعليم، الدبلوماسية، وبناء السلام.
28 ايار
انعقد مؤتمر مغار موديل في بلدة المغار، المدينة المختلطة (دروز، مسلمون، ومسيحيون). تضمنت إحدى اللجان مبادرة عالمية جديدة مثّل فيها الطلاب شباب دولهم، وحصلوا على شهادات من جامعة ومنظمة غير حكومية معتمدتين من الأمم المتحدة.
15 حزيران
عقدنا مناظرة عبر الإنترنت بعنوان "هل كانت مهاجمة إيران الآن هي الخيار الأفضل لإسرائيل؟" بمشاركة 8 طلاب.
22 حزيران
عقدنا جلسة قراءة من خلال الزوم لبرنامج “الكتابة تصنع فرقًا” شارك فيها الطلاب بقراءة نصوص من تأليفهم.
6 تموز
أقمنا ورشة تدريب على التيسير مدتها 5 ساعات لـ 30 طالبًا من 20 مدرسة لتأهيلهم لقيادة مجموعات وتشجيع الطلاب الجدد على الانضمام.
10–11 تموز
ورشة ليلية للمعلمين في عكا القديمة، تضمنت تمارين كتابة وعرض أفكار كل معلم، بمشاركة معلمين يهود، مسلمين، ودروز من مختلف مناطق البلاد.
17 تموز
عقدنا ورشة مدتها 5 ساعات في المعهد الثقافي الروماني بتل أبيب حول التفاوض من أجل السلام والكتابة والسرد القصصي بمشاركة طلاب من 12 مدرسة.
18 تمور
تحدث كل من إميلي، يائير، وشيبلي عن تجاربهم أمام جمهور في سلسلة محاضرات شهرية نظمها المعهد الثقافي الروماني، وكان عرضهم مليئًا بالطاقة والإلهام.
20 تموز
عقدنا ورشة كتابة تفاعلية في يافا لمدة 6 ساعات شملت زيارة إلى الميناء والبلدة القديمة.
22–29 تموز
المخيم الأول للسلام (توكا مخيم تاكو السلام)، بمشاركة 17 طالبًا من إسرائيل (9 عرب و8 يهود من 10 مدارس)، و19 طالبًا من كوسوفو (ألبان وصرب) إضافة إلى 5 طلاب أمريكيين.
قضت المجموعة أسبوعًا في موقع المخيم، نفّذت خلاله أنشطة لبناء السلام، ثم عقدت مؤتمر نموذج أمم متحدة في بريشتينا، وزارت بعثة الأمم المتحدة ووزارة الخارجية الكوسوفية. المزيد هنا
4–11 اب
الرحلة السنوية الرابعة إلى الأمم المتحدة في فيينا، حيث التقى طلاب من إسرائيل وكوسوفو بممثلي الولايات المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي لدى الأمم المتحدة، وبمؤسسات أممية ووزارة الخارجية النمساوية.
في 7 اب شاركت المجموعة في ندوة حول الشباب وبناء السلام نظمتها اتحاد النساء العالمي للسلام، وحصل عدد من المشاركات على جائزة “شباب بناة السلام”. المزيد هنا

ورشة القيادة الصيفية الأخيرة لـ 10 طلاب استعدادًا لتيسير اللجان في مؤتمرات نموذج الأمم المتحدة.
21 اب
ورشة كتابة جديدة في يافا لمدة 6 ساعات، شملت جولة في الميناء والبلدة القديمة واستخدام مواد من السوق لإلهام الكتابة الإبداعية.
19 اب
شاركنا في فعالية خيام العدالة والإنسانية والمساواة التي استضافتها منظمة جسور السلام، وجمعت 150 إسرائيليًا وفلسطينيًا في أمسية مخيّم ممتعة.
16–19 ايلول
شارك ستيفن في المنتدى الثاني لقادة الأديان الشباب في أستانا، كازاخستان، وكان المتحدث الوحيد من إسرائيل، حيث تحدث عن أهمية استخدام القيم الدينية لتعزيز السلام من خلال تبنّي التنوع الإنساني من منظور ديني.

أدار ستيفن ورشة عبر الزوم للمعلمين في مناطق النزاع، معظمهم من إفريقيا، استخدم فيها أمثلة وتمارين مستوحاة من أنشطتنا في إسرائيل.
